Description: Anyone knows where to get it?

Sehnsucht - April 26, 2005 09:25 AM (GMT)
hi people. i was just wondering if there is any magic shop in singapore that sells swami. and if there is any which does, what is the price? thanks.

Andy - April 26, 2005 10:17 AM (GMT)
hmm...not trying to advertise for her but...

You can drop Ning an email to get a quotation ^_^

R_jayz - April 26, 2005 12:43 PM (GMT)
what is 'swami'? can anyone tell me? (i did a search on the web, but i don't know wth it is)

exohordon - April 26, 2005 12:59 PM (GMT)
Its something Osterlind uses.
Well not just him.
But his friends too.

Magicdow - April 26, 2005 01:54 PM (GMT)
Its a device used mainly for mental effects. Pretty useful I'd say. Recently I got a Vernet version and it works quite well. The price is about S$30. There're cheaper versions too but I think Vernet's is easier to handle.

Sehnsucht - April 26, 2005 10:29 PM (GMT)
i see..where is it available?

Magicdow - April 27, 2005 12:19 AM (GMT)
All good magic shops. Check with Ning.

So much things to know, so little time.

Sehnsucht - April 29, 2005 07:15 AM (GMT)

GordonLi - April 29, 2005 11:31 AM (GMT)

Did you read my post? I've posted the price on this thread. Ever buy food from a girl? Ever served by a girl in a fast food joint?
If you dare not talk to girls, then you only perform magic for guys only?

Wonder how you do all these.

Sehnsucht - April 29, 2005 02:07 PM (GMT)
yes i do magic for girls and they keep staring at me. May i please know the price to swami?

Something wrong with your eyes?

Sehnsucht - April 30, 2005 01:03 AM (GMT)
ok sorry then.

Ning - May 3, 2005 06:07 AM (GMT)
Hi Sehnsucht

Sorry, i missed this thread... anyways, don't see me as a girl pls, see me as a fellow magician or hobbyist who shares te same passion and interests as you :)

Yes, magicdow is right... they typically cost $30 but my prices are cheaper since most of SMC folks are students *grin* My vernet swami writers cost less than $30.

Email me directly if you're seriously looking for one. Thanks much and no, i do not bite *wink*

Ning ^_^

Sehnsucht - May 3, 2005 08:09 AM (GMT)
but the description of you on the <-- left side says 'just a girl'!

.................................Look, I'm not gonna give you the cooties!

Pretend I'm a guy if you want. Heck. Forget it. I doubt I can even pass off as a butch :P

Email me anyways if you're serious about your swami writer. Or, if you're really sexist, there are several other guy dealers on this forum.

Good luck!

Sehnsucht - May 3, 2005 08:26 AM (GMT)
im not sexist. but im serious about swami.

Ning - May 3, 2005 08:28 AM (GMT)

LOL... ok, anyways, you can approach Cynwell for the swami writer too seriously... he's a nice guy :) I'm just very amused how shy you are just cos I'm a girl that's all.

Anyways! Yes, if you're a Richard Osterlind fan, swami writers are the way to go! ^_^

Sehnsucht - May 3, 2005 08:35 AM (GMT)
yes i love osterlind. i took up mentalism as my best form of magic because a lot of people i performed for said i look like a mind reader, which i hate, because i seem like a fortune teller or something. Anyway swami is cool. oh and i didn know that when i edit a post it would be stated. haha.

Then you'd love to meet Pam... our dear Pam's a great mentalist! If you're into mentalism (you should feel blessed that you have a serious mentalist face) check out this book- Messing with Minds- heard very good reviews about it! Ta! ^_^

Sehnsucht - May 3, 2005 08:51 AM (GMT)
i think max maven has a very nice mentalist look due to his hair and his facial expressions and all. i met him about 3 years ago and the way he conducted himself is absolutely stunning. he looks better in person as well.

GordonLi - May 4, 2005 07:32 AM (GMT)
lol, max maven. he has left me a very deep impression since his performance in IF 03. he just has this air around him. cos of his looks (hair yes), and his character. very mysterious... i like it!

Sehnsucht - May 4, 2005 09:25 AM (GMT)
yep. he is just born for mentalism. either that or he will make big money fortune telling.

extremer - May 5, 2005 01:26 AM (GMT)
Sehnsucht, why so shy towards girls? Ning is friendly to approach. Just get from her la. No need to be shy. By the way how old are you?

Sehnsucht - May 5, 2005 09:22 AM (GMT)
i am 18. you?

Conrida - October 8, 2005 02:20 AM (GMT)
I don't know whether you guys own super sharpie. It's a nice gimmick.

BuaYa - October 8, 2005 08:49 AM (GMT)
What the hell. You brought up the old topic just to say that!? Shame on you!

Conrida - October 8, 2005 04:46 PM (GMT)
Oh sorry mate cause I just signed up this forum 3 days ago so everything for me is new here. Well, is any rule here that to bring back the old topic for dicussion is prohibited? If so, then I feel sincerely apologized and ashame upon my ignorance.

Magicdow - October 8, 2005 11:54 PM (GMT)
Its ok to bring up old topics if the new post is helpful.

Maddened - May 28, 2006 01:28 PM (GMT)
Ok, Magicdow says it's ok to bring up old topics, so don't flame me or whatever... :P

Actually I just like to get an opinion on Swami gimmicks in general and some advice on them. Boon writers seems to be the smallest ones and I'm wondering if anyone out there has some experience using Swami gimmicks.

Since each one cost about $30, it's kinda expensive to go around buying a few and "testing" them out... Plus, how many people actually uses a pencil nowadays!??!

Sehnsucht - May 29, 2006 01:28 PM (GMT)
I do prediction writings in pencil 99% of the time.

I have the C type writer, undernail one. I think its the best kind of nailwriter there is, sturdy and reliable to use. Con for me would be the prerequisite of nails to use it. As for the others, i cant say much except that i was considering boon type writers for a time since i dislike long fingernails.

How much did it cost you? I don't mind keeping a nail so long as I can write properly and be able to get it on and off fast and efficiently. Which is why I'm a little skeptical about boon writers, though it's definitely much easier to hide... Less stress too that way, psychologically for the performer...

Hey would love to meet and chat with you in person or something man, one mentalist wannabe to an experience mentalist... Watch for my PM... Heh.

Magicdow - May 30, 2006 01:18 AM (GMT)
You can try the TT version. Easy to wear and take off.

Ning - May 30, 2006 04:03 PM (GMT)
TT versions are secure but those with small thumbs, well, you may like the boon writer better. It's small, easy to conceal and ditch if you're afriad it might flash ^_^ I think pencil types are really ok... marker ones may not last you as long, but it's all about preference really.
