I say, for someone who has only been in magic for a few month, you have a pretty big and impressive collection, esp of gimmicked tricks.
You have enough arsenal for a lot a lot of possibilities and a full show i think. Especially your scvengli deck and stripper deck. The things possible with them are limitless. You should get some books to fully utilise them.
You really have to organise some bulk buying activities mate....
Btw, how's the Tiger decks? Is it really as hip as it seems on the video? I'm thinking of getting one of those myself.
It wouldn't be very possible to list the card tricks i have, and i do mostly non-gimmicked or self gimmicked stuff. But i'm especially fond of a deck called Extreme by Bryan Will, Time Traveller and my invisible deck.
Cheers

I can't say the bat is not good...
it's small, and can be hidden..
but, most of the time is..
singaporean are too clever to know how this gimmicks work..
so..ermz...it'd been in the box without much usage...

Ermz..
frankly, when i was just starting out, began grabbing any tricks that i cant figure out..(high cost)..
but, now, as i'm progressing, i find i had a little too many gimmicks..
haha..
thinking of selling the gimmicks away(except for color.m and nfw, they are my fave tricks...)
as for the tiger deck..i can say, it really fans as smooth, very smooth compared to bike deck..
the color is alluring, negative colour..
the cards work best for flourish, but one downside of it is, it needs to have special attention to..cuz, the ink(black) will go off, once u drop it on any rough surface...:(
ya, and it's a bit more heavier than norm bike deck..

When you say your "boyfriend", am i right to assume that you are a female? :P
If you are, congratz, you are one of very few female who are interested in magic. If you are not, we very welcome you anyway :)
Would you care to give us an intro in Intros and Hellos. And yes, please tell your bf about this forum and invite him to come in too.
For black tiger decks, read my topic in the Marketplace. I am trying to get people to purchase in bulk from the internet and get free shipping for it. It would be cheaper than anything you can find in the shops in singapore. Esp for a relatively new item like the tiger decks.

Ah, just buy the black decks off ebay or something, and you can save a ton of money there. No free international shipping still though. :P
50% of my card work is gimmick based, 50% sleight of hand based, but I rarely use "trick decks". Other than the occasional Invisible Deck or David Regal's Deja Vu deck I tend to stray away from trick decks. Some awesome gaffed effects are effects like Jackass from Syd Segal's Gaft Card Magic, John Bannon's "Twisted Sisters" (BTW, do yourselves a favor and check out his two books which are kickass, stuff like Heart of the City and his color-changing deck routine Strangers Gallery rock! :) ), and Michael Skinner's Ultimate Three Card Monte.

Do u happen to frequent penguin, dude?
I have a feeling u sounded like some1 there...haha..
Btw, what's everyoen favourite card control sleights here..
For me myself, i especially love to use a shift(or "pass")..
//Okay, i know some pple here will say using a pass is not as good as to use cuts or what, but, i still love to use a pass. :)
(That's the 1st sleight i have learned...from ninja)
CLJ - September 14, 2004 03:04 AM (GMT)
ACtually, yes, I do frequent penguin but I really dislike their forums for reasons that should be pretty obvious (for those who do participate in their forums you should know :D )
Favorite controls? I always use the riffle pass as my primary control. I use a Fred Robinson technique for the riffle pass that makes it almost 100% invisible. Watch PEter Duffie/Bone do their riffle passes and you'll see what I mean. It's freaky. Other passes I would use are just a classic pass with a riffle at the end (as Peter Duffie says, there's a difference between a riffle pass and a classic pass with a riffle), Luke Dancy's Shadow Pass etc. If you want to see great passes check out some guys like Steve Draun, Bill Kalush, Jason Tang, Peter Duffie, Bone, Ken Krenzel, etc. Those guys are awesome um, for lack of better term, passers. :D
Other controls I tend to use a lot are LEe Asher's Pulp Friction (absolutely THE best bottom control), and a move that was described in David Regal's THe Magic of David Regal dvd set. I can't remember its name, nor the creator at the moment, but I can remember that David Regal couldn't pronounce his name properly. It's a control that gives the illusion of you cutting a card into the deck, then cutting it even deeper in. It's an awesome and easy control that I use a lot. If anyone can help me out here in terms of credits, that would be g-r-e-a-t. :D
magi81 - September 14, 2004 11:25 AM (GMT)
wow...
u sure do lotsa sleights..

ren8585 - October 4, 2004 03:14 PM (GMT)
why do blizzard since you have fade out o.O
BuaYa - October 9, 2004 03:24 PM (GMT)
Why do fade out when u have blizzard?
IMHO I believe that blizzard really has that PUNCH that fade out does not. I mean, a blank card is actually an oddity (heard this term from a friend), an weapon of mass curiosity. Everyone would want to take a look at it. Sure, you could show the audience the fade out cards, but you can do it with more confidence in blizzard. I mean, blizzard is true magic!
ren8585 - October 9, 2004 04:20 PM (GMT)
nah........... in fade out the packet dosent leave the spetators sight u see a whole bunch of normal cards just a snap and all blanks and i have never had problems handing out cards.. normally they would try to grab the cards but ill just ask them to watch till the trick is over and they listen :P afther that just hand them the cards to examine all they like.anyway its hard to do the ""move" in blizzard if you are doing it closeup.. so ill just stick to fade out
BuaYa - October 10, 2004 01:43 AM (GMT)
Hmmm. Its not hard to do the move... Trust me. This effect was created with adequate misdirection to execute the move. But I agree that fade out is damn good.
Mystical2004 - October 13, 2004 03:03 PM (GMT)
this forum has really helped me a lot so far... and i thank all the contributors in helping me solve my itsy bitsy problems. anibody know where to get fadeout? magic supreme is out of stock and i am not sure of magic castle.
illusionist - October 13, 2004 03:15 PM (GMT)
