May I know how do you keep cards from getting dirty at the edges? And also, how long do u use ur decks before chucking it?
For me it can be more than half a year, and my cards get REAL dirty and SOFT.
My first bikes: when u fold a card, you can practically hear it crack. It is THAT dirty.

crack sound? wow.
i only have two, one very new, one very old, i use the old one all the time. And the old deck is a little dirty around the edges, but it has been in use for bout a year...but they still handles pretty well, although i can no longer do perfect spreads with them.

hmm i don think its possible to prevent the edges from becoming dirty. Unless u wear gloves, but even gloves will have dirt and eventually the edges will turn black too.

i once tried to wipe the dirt off my bicycle bridge sized decks(my very first bicycle cards) using my sis nail-polish remover. Don't ever do that.

Buy another deck man... nothing beats the feel of a brand new deck.
its only 5 bucks a month..which translates to
0.1666666666666666666666666666666666666666666667 cents a day.

Im betting that the ink came off, a free ace of hearts for the person who guesses it correctly. Im serious.

LOL. I too once used nail polisher to 'clean' the cards. Man! The ink smuch and its like using thnner to get rid of paint. Eewww.

i agree with daryl.
if ur deck is that bad u can hear it crack, its definitely time for a new one!
on the surface, wiping with a slightly damp cloth should help.

yeah, the ink came off... the whole thing was smudged... and that card was the ace of spades that i was gonna keep as a souvenir(my first deck used for magic...).
hihs - April 27, 2005 11:53 AM (GMT)
go buy a new deck man! u are a money saving magician dude.
lukold - April 27, 2005 02:28 PM (GMT)
seriously guys , get a new deck.. i changed decks like.. once a month .. or 2 per mth... you know you can get them at $3.5 from our dealers right? right?
Winder - April 27, 2005 02:33 PM (GMT)
I think the $3.5 was only a special offer for that time outing, now decks are either $4.5 or $4

personally i use my overused deck which are totally horrendously dirty to do tricks such as tear and restored as well as flourishes. When you drop them or whatsoever then you will not feel the heartache as compared to dropping a whole deck of brand new cards.
darkmagician - April 28, 2005 10:22 AM (GMT)
well u do not need to throw away all the deks that r old...
u can reuse them for other tricks, such as torn and restored, like bending the cards up, or card to the ceiling and so on...
there are many other things u can do with the deck if u just think of how to reuse them...
