Title: Revolution Vs Melt

Revolution VS Melt

I'm thinking of purchasing Revolution after seeing the video and I'm even more intrested in Melt after seeing the video too.

Both coin vanish trick seems to be similar but I find that Melt is more natural, neater and cleaner on the outcome.

What do you guys think?

ren8585 - October 7, 2004 10:21 AM (GMT)
you cant completely vanish the coin in melt...

illusionist - October 7, 2004 01:30 PM (GMT)
Yrp you can totally vanish the coin in melt and it some how angle senative hope its not exposure hahhaha..

Aloy - October 7, 2004 04:15 PM (GMT)
Personally, i think melt is more practical than revolution. Although melt is also a one trick sleight/gimmick.
Revolution looks good on videos but in real life, to me it just looks awkward and much more likely to be figured out....

Both tricks are angle restrictive thou, but both has pretty generous angles so not too much problem if u do close up.

Pseudo - October 7, 2004 09:36 PM (GMT)
I suppose both used different sleights to perform. It won't be wasted if I purchased both.

I'm totall new to coin stuff. Think I'm going to get Revolution first s it more popular.

Melt's presentation is very clean, neat and convincing.

I think I'll somehow end up purchasing both of it.

hmm to me I find revolution is cleaner ... Some how I feel melt you can't total vanish the coin and can't show your hands empty... I did revolution to my gf , some secondary sch kids and some passer by in orchard and they was amaze by it.. that is my view to it .. :)

Magicdow - October 8, 2004 02:45 AM (GMT)
I don't really fancy this type of gimmicks/sleight. For that price, you can get some pretty good dvds out there. Still prefer sleight of hand for vanishes.

ron_magic - October 8, 2004 03:36 AM (GMT)
Get both!...... if u dun have the money.. look at revolution demo as many time and u can figure out the trick urself. Compare them with demo at magicvideodepot.. there is one demo vid(revolution) in there which just perform the revolution vanish TOO obvious and u can learn there(i am not sure wheather the admin has remove it) :D with this u can get melt and u get both trick :)

Ning - October 8, 2004 04:19 AM (GMT)
Hmmm... since you're new to coin magic, why dont u try reading Bobo's Book of Modern Coin Magic first and learn the basic sleights. It's ancient but it covers the base ;) When you feel ready, you'd get a better direction on which video to buy.

I've heard bad reviews from magicians on other forums about MELT tho... check out international forums like sleightgeek.com or themagiccafe.com as well for collected reviews B)

BuaYa - October 11, 2004 02:14 PM (GMT)
I like melt more... But i dislike both. Go figure.

Anyways, I agree with Ning, get BoBo's and you'll be much better off than buying bth of those items... For one, using what you have in BoBo's you can multiply, dissolve, vanish, change, color, and transpose coins. Why buy th two videos when you can buy this book?

exohordon - October 11, 2004 04:23 PM (GMT)
Pseudo is pretty much like everyone of us when we 1st started magic.
Seeing a trick being performed and at the spur of the moment u juz add it into ur shopping cart. LOL.

Sigh....
Anyway MELT and Revolution both sux.
And i mean really sux.
Do a ungimmicked version of dream vanish found at magic castle.
Works good. Fooled everyone

illusionist - October 11, 2004 04:37 PM (GMT)
Dream vanish is not very good also.. can't do surrounded hahaha and if for street don't bother hahahah... that is just my view hahaha no offend tho :D

exohordon - October 12, 2004 02:30 AM (GMT)
I am not doing exactly the way Dream Vanish is supposed to be done.
I don't use the gimmick given if u know wat i mean.
I use my own totally impromptu version modified using Dream Vanish's method.
Its very easy. In fact i have 2 versions to end clean.

CLJ - October 12, 2004 02:36 AM (GMT)
Melt is actually Meir Yedid's Now-U-C-It Now-U-Don't. :D It's a cool effect, except that its angle limitations makes it pretty impractical for close-up use. :D The Revolution just looks so...awkward. And I have no clue what the Dream Vanish is. :D

Ning - October 12, 2004 10:20 AM (GMT)
I've got Dream Vanish... anyone interested in the manuscript can get it for cheap... PM me if u are really interested. I don't mind trades as well... Bascially it's a coin vanish routine u can do without IT or the raven with your sleeves rolled up, or even no sleeves.

BuaYa - October 12, 2004 11:30 AM (GMT)
Dream Vanish is really REALLY good. I double recomend it!

Here is a cool coin vanish vid for you guys to watch hahahah have fun...

Perfect Vanish

Hm... is it me... I can't view the video. Its kept asking me to log in to video.

About this Dream Vanish. Are there any videos on this vanish?

illusionist - October 12, 2004 04:02 PM (GMT)
Sorry try this...
should be able to download and watch sorry

Perfect Vanish

exohordon - October 12, 2004 06:22 PM (GMT)
Actually Dream Vanish is quite a waste of money.
Lol. Worst buy of my life. Totally wanted to rip the manualscript apart.
Sigh..... Magic Castle does mentalism to affect my mind and made me buy it.
Says it can be done naked. Pretty kinky.

As for Melt, U dun realli need to buy the trick.
Juz learn the easy gimmick and u can do the trick.
Melt is veri angle sensitive.

Best vanishes to me are still sleight of hand vanishes.
Unless they can make a non magnetic raven. Or another ingenious way that doesn't need long sleeves.

Huron - October 13, 2004 05:59 PM (GMT)
GET A DAVID ROTH VIDEO AND LEARN SLEIGHT OF HAND COIN MAGIC!!!!!!!
Melt and Revolution. Nothing new. Melt is LIKE a rip-off NUCINUD. A variation of Revolution can be found in Bobo's Art of Modern Coin Magic.

Huron

iewgnod - October 27, 2004 01:32 PM (GMT)
i would actually recommend melt.u can do more routines wif it.revolution like wad Morphine said makes u look awkward and its easy to find out but u end totally clean.Dream vanish is TOTALLY out...waste of money..nearly banged myself when found out how it was done.o well.no offence to those who like it.

peace out

kryptikalism - October 27, 2004 01:59 PM (GMT)
i would recommend that you get neither revolution nor melt. for that asking price you might as well get a coin video. both melt or revolution are simply too restricted. why buy a one-trick donkey?

SeNgHoE - November 10, 2004 01:11 AM (GMT)
get sankey revolutionary coin magic.. It contains certain gaff tricks that u havre to make yourself and certain impromtu and hardcore selgiths.. but i didnt go and master them LOL!

agreed totally. i think magic is now over-commercialised, and ppl are "tricked"? into getting the new effects and stuff which are usually not practical. especially with the gimmicks involved, true the effect *might* look quite good, but the trouble of adding/removing the gimmick or not allowing something to be inspected might not be good for the effect. there are exceptions though. but beware, most magic inventors (assuming their work are quite original, which more often than not isnt the case, rite?) simply want to make a quick buck, and dont perfect their presentation. all they care is that their trick looks good and is eye candy for the market. its like those fashion shows where all the clothes are impractical but just good to look at (and some may beg to defer).

illusionist - November 10, 2004 04:16 AM (GMT)
To me watever you get you need practice to make it perfert.. with sleight of hand or gimmick if you practice it well I guess you can pull of the trick perfectly..Different people have different taste in tricks and stuff so is all up to them and watever tricks you get do practice well before performing and don't leak out the secert in the end.. :D

Totally agree! But atleast in here u get an honest review on the tricks and u can save a lot for not buying it due to the reason given.

Cryheart - March 25, 2005 04:35 AM (GMT)
Revolution totally rocks the coin vanishing world! It's much better than Melt!

Argh! I wanna learn Revolution!

Huh. U said its better , but how you know its better without knowing how its done. lol.

I agree that rev. is better than melt. Melt doesnt appeal to me at all. it go angle restrictions, rev. has much better angle range for a spectator. real visual vanish there thou. but u cannot make the coin appear again, but the hteory sucks, but its good.. aww. what am i talking about. ;)

xdtjpx - March 30, 2005 12:21 AM (GMT)
lmao i like raven and now u see it now u dont only the dream vanish isnt good.nid misdirections..
