Title: Squaring But Still At The Top...
neotrident - May 8, 2005 06:41 AM (GMT)
Hi guys...i am trying to create a trick but i wanna make it look as if i'm squaring the deck right above the selected card but i actually controlled their card to the top in 1 part of the trick..is there any move that can do that?

isn't it the pass? or are you referring to something else?

Check out the pass crazy thread in this same section.
All can do it.
Showme your routine tomorrow.

whoa. loads of sleights for this. I can only think of a few names though. maybe the LePaul Sides**** would be good. yeah, most passes can be adapted to involve a squaring action too.
wait. I'm inferring that what you want is a sleight, not a trick, that allows you to control the card to the top while it looks as if you are squaring the deck. it's not too hard to think of a few ways yourself ;)

Lennart Green has a sides**** as well if you wanna check out green's magic vol 1. He shows u the subtleties of squaring the deck.
Cheers.

woah dude I think you're talking about the pass. my favourite move. There are many many different passes. Riffle pass, classic pass, Invisible pass, Side cover pass, cover pass, cover riffle pass, cover riffle 4 stack pass, hermann pass, turnover pass blah blah blah blah blah. The list goes on forever man. If you really wanna ' square' up the deck and control the card, turnover pass and invisible pass look exactly like you're squaring the pack.

There's one that I really love that's NOT a pass that looks like so:
Card is slotted in the middle FROM THE FRONT, and the deck is then squared. Card is now on top.
No kind of tilt-move or anything. This is the Panaromic Shift by Jerry Andrus. And oh BOOOOOOYY does it look insane :D

u can just use a side steal, or a pass. with proper motivation/misdirection, they will be perfect!

Neotrident,
If you had looked at the post you quoted a little further, you would have seen my stating the name of the move, and who's it was. In case that's too much of an arduous task for you, it's the "Panaromic Shift" by Jerry Andrus, and I personally learnt it from a friend, so try Googling it.

Wooo... Casade control sounds like it too.
Its supposely one of the hardest moves in card magic, any one does it?
Dang, i've only seen it, but, anyone knows where to get resources to learn it?

Alraven, are you talking about the Charlie Miller control where the card is controlled during a waterfall? If so, then you're right... that is ONE bitch of a control to pull off :(

hahahaa, yea, teh one one with the waterfall. MAn! honestly, its one of the most beautiful move i've seen! you do it?
Kevin - May 9, 2005 12:55 PM (GMT)
I don't, and can't, do it. I first saw Rod the Hop perform it on Lee Asher and Paul Wilson's "Hit the Road" DVD (which is a must-have) and I've just left it as that... I'm not sure if there's a learning source for it, but now that I'm reminded of it (thanks) I'll ask around.
