I was at esplan today, doing my video shot and so, the crew actually want to find audience for me. But end up being rejected so many times. Haha!! I told them before in singapore, it is not easy to hook an audience. But we did manage to get some tourists from Hongkong to be my audience.

And sure enough, they are still very shy about it, the fact that they are going to be in video ba. But i still convice the smaller gals when i told them i show them a trick first before the video rolls.

I miss my first trick, lost the last Ace in the deck (I was doing the normal 4 aces production) and cant find it, well, i just told them that the last Ace is the hardest to find, and well, i not perfect, then i go on and do the card in hand trick. (At this time, the camera is alreadi rolling and the crew was moving around the audience for the video) and good thing is, they are not bothered by the camera, and the end effect is unknown.

Cause we wont expect them to be like what most DVD haves, or david blaine have, audience cursing, or running around screaming. In end, the gal holding on to the card is speechless, she kept quiet for long time, staring at the card. And her mom still tells her that she is holding on to the card and she insist she is holding on another card.

so i dun know whether it is a good effect anot. But the shot ends there. I give my thanks and the family walked away.

So tell me what u feel about this.

That should be a good reaction as the gal was speechless lol... but you have to see the expression to judge yourself.. and I think the gal is a little confuse lol.. :D

What video shoot? Your own project or you doing some interview or something?

Hey bro, yeah I just did filming for my own video at Far East Plaza several days ago. Always go for the teenagers as they are normally more cooperative. Never to magic to couples as the guy will end up spoiling the whole video as he wants to show his girlfriend that he's macho.

Anyway, I guess the video you did was alright. Being speechless is a good thing in magic. Sounds cool.

Oh anyway you should be the one finding an audience! Its a better approach. Flourish alot by yourself as well. Flourishing is very eye catching so you may be able to draw a crowd to you, without even asking.

The video is for my graduation day. They going to feature me in magic.

the gal is not confuesd, she was staring at the card. I was looking at her and watching her.

This gal crowd is actually i approached one. I go towards them and tell them that i want to show them something, and then the crews came and told them they are shooting for a video.

The most happy thing is that i did not stumble when i fail the first magic. and i din tremble. Which is quite strange, cause i din really do to strangers alot.

I will get the video soon. And it be cool when i can get it up to a weblink.

Singaporean, hard to perfrom and ask for a good reaction. Because most of them after got stun by the trick, simply refuse to appreciate what you just done.
They just tell you
"aiya, surly u change the card",
or somethings when u pass them their card, they go...
"i know u not passing me my card."
worse, some even say ..
"i saw it, i know u did SOMETHING"

Kaoz... no wonder Jack Neo got one joke about Singapore...

Yeah, the Flourish works. Walk, do Flourish, somehow, someone out there will be stun by your cuts and fanning. Take a smile, start your routine. BANG, he will appreciate it and remember you.

Speaking of videos, I have a dream... To gather all flourishers in Singapore , and produce a uber long and memorable video all about flourishes. A mini-documentary about all flourishes and the famous flourishers in the world.

But the, it's just a dream...

I think you did a great job. Being asians, we are very conservative with our feelings. And in this case, i think the girl was stunned because the impossible happened in her hands.

I just finished filming my video for my school. Its gonna be quite long, about 20-30mins. I'll try my best to let you guys watch it.

Oh and Ling if you really have a dream, start small and then develop. Start with SMC first since everyone is so friendly. I'm willing to help you out if you want. ;)

Maybe we can all watch some of the nicely edited vids (not rw footage, you can do an instant demo for that) next time... hmmm, Buaya, maybe you can organise that June SMC thingy we're supposed to have & incorporate this in?
