Does anybody happen to do rope magic? I'm learning from this tape named "Expert Rope Magic Made Easy - Daryl".

Any other recommendations?

Daryl's dvd teaches all kinds of knots and ropes flourishes, but very little of rope routines.

Do you think Tabary Rope Magic would be better if I wanna learn rope routines for stage magic? :o

im not too sure abt tarbary's rope magic, but i think it should be rather good from what i see in the contents.

i have seen tarbary's rope act b4, and i must say its great! he's entertaining, the act was well choreographed and everybody seemed to have enjoyed themselves. im really impressed by his ability to entertain ppl with an entire act, of just 1 rope routine... truly amazing!

If you're getting heavily into rope magic, you should have the Abbot's Encyclopedia of Rope Magic by Stewart James as a reference.

Following someone else's rope routine is good for a start, but you should not just imitate... keep adding your own ideas and twists and plots until you have something entirely new and all your own.

The best cut and restored rope effect is the Panama Rope Miracle by Ted Collins. My rule is to locate the absolute best version of everything and stick to that one, so even though I know 20 different ways to cut and restore a rope, I only do the Panama Rope moves simply because they are the best.

Thanks for the advice. But as a starter I have learnt several types of knots from Daryl's dvd. I was really impressed with Tabary's rope magic and that's next on my list.

Abbot's Encyclopedia of Rope Magic sounds like a good reference but i will only get it if I'm getting heavily involved.
