this is for all you guys who do lots of stuff with coins. i'd like to share my ideas about avoiding the use of non-singaporean coins. personally, i prefer to use singaporean coins, but initially had trouble finding coins which are of similar size but of different colours.
i just solved this problem recently. just cobbled together a coin set which is as 'Singaporean' as i can make it. here it is:
Singapore 50 cent coins
Australian $1 coins - has a gold sheen to them
Chinese coins - real brass chinese coins
Old-issue Singapore $1 coins
with the exception of the old-issue $1, everything is the same size. so these are the coins i use for my coin magic...
just my two cents on the issue.
oh, i forgot to add. the old issue $1 is a big coin, around the size of an american silver dollar. to singaporeans, this is pretty big.
Where did you cobbled the Singapore 50 cents and S$1 coins? You did it locally?
the 50 cents are just your ordinary 50 cent coins. you can get the old singapore dollar at money changers. not all of them sell it. there's one at woodlands selling the coins for 3 bucks each.
