Oh dear...

Being the pessimistic person that I am, I am sure this will generate a number of new 'magicians' in the next few months.

Something I want to say to those who are already magicians:

Please do not make negative comments about Blaine when your classmates come to you the next day and ask:

"Eh, that Blaine bugger is for real is it? How he do that card trick ah? How he float ah?"

If you tell your friends,

"Aiyah, his tricks all very simple lah! here, I show you. You think he really magic meh? All camera tricks you know, they edit the footage lah, then also got stooge lah.."

Then I say to you, you're not good enough to be a magician. No matter how bad a magician is, you never never ever put him down in front of laymen. Let them think what they think, and you don't start showing off that you're better than Blaine. Because you're not. Period.

I'm not an ardent Blaine supporter, but who can deny that he has a lot of laymen fans? The second name that laymen now mention after Copperfield is Blaine, not Houdini or Ammar or Garcia or Devo. By saying that Blaine's 'magic' is fake, what makes you think that your 'fans' will increase their support for you?

So think about it, and don't start condemning TV magicians who get paid a million per TV special just because they do 'stupid card tricks' and 'simple stuff'.

Aye, Krypt.

Simply put, the plain Blaine (however lousy anyone may think of him) is the biggest reason why there's an explosion of people in magic today.

And his televised specials showed us all that you can entertain with a cheapo pack of cards, and cheapo many other things besides.

Blaine must not be judged on his tricks alone. Magic, mystery? All part of our history.

I did some thinking before. His tricks are now common knowledge, but why? Exposure from other people, not that he's lousy. In fact, the guy's not half bad. Look at the volume he inspired.

The existence of magic clubs around the world, including this one, is proof enough.

It's very nice to hear someone with the same sentiments as me!! =))))
that's my quadrup chin smile.

David Copperfield was the first person to make me feel interested in magic. David Blaine was the first to make me take up. I guess i'm a by-product of this phenomenon. -bleah-

I'm gonna watch!! =)

And, I think today's NKF Cancer charity show has dice stacking. I think it's done by Zoe Tay 'Gambling Queen'. Bernard, go challenge her!

Well, tonight, we have decent tv programmes to watch. ^_^

:P

Oh yes, the NKF cancer charity is at 7.30pm, Channel U. ;)

After watching the show, I realised that David Blaine is very good with hecklers. Although I'm not a big fan of him, I have alot of respect for him.
