I have great news guys!!

In case you haven't heard, JC Sum is putting up an illusions show in August. And he has been very kind to extend a special offer of 20% off the regular price for SMC members and forumites. Here's the details of the performance.

Date : 7 August 2005, Sun

Time : 7.30pm Gala Performance

Location : DBS Arts Centre

Address : 20 Merbau Road (Robinson Walk) Singapore 239035

Price : S$28 (For SMC Forumite and Members only)

In addition, there will be a lecture for $15 per person which is not available to the public. There is no discount for this but attendance is limited. Will be posting more information about the lecture on a later date.

For the show tickets, please follow up post with your name if you are interested in getting the discount with us by the 20th of July. I will be posting the payment method and details later but need to know how many tickets we need to book.

It's not so often we get to see stage illusions in Singapore so I do encourage those who can to go take a look.

A Member recently posed these questions to me:

Is it fair for people to just sign up as a Forumite, and get a discount for going to the show?

Shouldn't this discount priviledge be extended to MEMBERS only?

Look at this guy - he hasn't even has a post count, yet he wants a discount for the tickets.

I agree but what about very old Forumites like me who's still waiting to be a member but in the mean time is still considered a Forumite but not a member? Or those other Forumites like Clement who I just checked uder his name is a Forumite too? Maybe it shouldn't be restricted to Member only. Maybe to old Forumites too.

My name is Logan, and I'm a regular poster over at The Magic Cafe. Recently I joined SMC as I wanted to see what's going on in magic in the context of Singapore.

Admittedly, I've been a lurker for some time (in fact this is my first post) and for that I would like to apologise.

I've joined since March but haven't been coming here that often, though I do read the posts here once in a while.

So if it's ok with all of you, I would like to attend both the show and the lecture.

We don't get this opportunity everyday.

If anyone feels that I don't deserve the discount credited to SMC, then I shall gladly pay the full fare.

For all that were concerned, this discount was extended to us by concept magic and it was their decision on the extend of the discount coverage. I have checked with them on the specifics of this and they are happy and comfortable with extending the offer to all members and forumites. But I do appriciate all the feedbacks :) Thanks.

Show duration is 7.30pm – 9.00pm. And the lecture is 9.30pm – 11.00pm.
