Hello!
I'm Taufiq Abdul Azim and i'm a sec 3 student from RI.. I have been into magic for the past 8 months. My magic scope will be card magic. I really love card tricks that are impromptu and that can be done with a regular deck. Since the past 8 months, i've never used a gimmicked deck as i wish to stick to the pure art of card magic. *ANW.. I'm getting a brainwave deck (my 1st gimmicked deck) from my fren tis thurday.. so i'm actually quite open to gimmicks*... BTW, i'll be busking at orchard on 6th august (saturday) from 1-5 p.m. The RI team consisting of 4 members will be doing some magic for charity purposes. I also just got the news from farisamin that the whole sec 2 hockey team (15 people) are starting to dwell into magic. So, i really hope that this hobby can spread and mebbe we'll have a small merit cca just on magic... Sounds too ambitious... oh well..
BTW... Jay sankey rox!!!

Hi icesmash, welcome to SMC.
Here's something you should understand about SMC and its magicians. We want to spread the appreciation of magic, we don't want to turn people into magicians. If there's an overflow of magicians, there won't be an audience to watch everyone's performances. Well welcome, and have fun busking.

That's quite true blackwing.. But what if they really want to be a magician? As far as i know, quite a few of them already got hold of born to perform by oz pearlman... Sooner or later, they'll get hold of the other videos... Wat am i supposed to do den?

Yeah Icesmash, its your responsibility, as a member of SMC, to ensure that your fellow magic friends do not expose secrets and stuff like that. Please ensure that your friends are skilled and responsible enough such that they do not reveal how tricks are done. If they are truly interested in magic, then I welcome them to the brotherhood. Peace.

some food for thought:
1. what IS the "pure art of card magic"?
2. do u really think that its good if magic spreads around, loses its exclusive appeal, and soon a large number of ppl can do "miracles"?
3. is it good if there is a magic CCA?
4. jay sankey... i hope he's not ur ONLY (or one of the few) idols
with regards to 3, check out the following:
http://forums.singaporemagiccircle.com/ind...?showtopic=2653and regarding the busking, i appreciate ur grp's kind intentions, and wish u guys luck. from what i hear, u guys probably need it.
