Title: Kolossus Killer
Description: Should i?

nyx - August 2, 2005 06:09 PM (GMT)
I'm aware that there are many effects out there in which the magi instructs the spectator to name any card.Thereby, he pulls his wallet out and that's the only card in his wallet.

I also know that these requires a gimmick, until i came across Kenton Knepper's Kolossus Killer.

He claims that he is the father of all those effects and had released his original version.

This original version requires absolutely no gimmicks at all and can be done anytime, anywhere literally. Even when you are clubbing and your old friend yell out a card, you still can produce it from your everyday wallet. AND it works everytime! The original also comes with a price that is SSSOOO much cheaper than the earlier gimmicked version/s. The notion comes in: the magi told me to name a card. I did and he pulled the very card out of his wallet!!

I own this original version and had totally forgotten about it until just now when i packed my drawer. Reading it again makes me wonder how this original version is ANY good.

Perhaps i don't understand the subtleties of doing it and i'm not willing to do it because i have no confidence in it at all.

People out there, if you own this effect, you can give me some advice or simply poll with your heart and hopefully i'll be convinced.

***vote one as lay person and one as magi if you own the effect/or know the secret.

The original Kolossal Killer is a brilliant effect. In the eyes of the laymen, if u can pull it off well, is an impromtu killer. Alas, I wish to perfrom the effect, but I yet to get a wallet to suit the effect.

Try sourcing out to other storage devices other than a wallet. It'll help...

But then one thing to note: you must be able to suggest (by verbal or non-verbal means.)to the spectator that [covered up]. If you can pull that off, you have just 'murdered' the spectator.

The principle of the effect is brilliant, but to pull it off well you will need some audience control skills at hand.

bro, i believe there's some serious exposure in your post! cover it up quick!

anyway, yea, i agree with you that the suggestion is the key to the effect. Which is the thing i totally have no confidence in right now.

If you want lesser stuff used, check out Heirloom. Comes with a better patter IMHO. Much lesser outs needed. Any regular wallet would do. To show the wallet to have only one card only, check out David Regal's Lucky Seven effect.

Its a casual trick. Impromptu, quite ok.

use those ah beng or ah ma wallet long long one can liao.

Elimination system is quite good.

I know someone who does this trick before. He used it as a last resort when people keep trying to do funny things like what the book says, 'spectator OT OT put cards in deck, try to give you problem'. He just did it and walk away. but thats quite negative lar. Have confident in it. People puts alot of plattor and sells it off well. its not that sucky a trick.

PAM?? where are you~~~~~~~~

anyway, have any of you guys actually performed it?

I guess 80% of this effect relies on your audience management.

The kolossus killer is excellent. I carry it around everywhere now. The suggested method in the manuscript is a killer. But I prefer to do it with K.E.N.T. It acts as a superb backup. the wallet is made of good quality leather and is a nice wallet on it's own. Using it with K.E.N.T., I freaked out a psychiatrist who I later found out was familiar with the use of suggestions and a little on cold reading and interpreting body language. Actually she freaked out twice. No. More then twice, because I did biddle and triumph with the added effect of Ultrasmoke 2000. She told another friend that she was getting a little frightened after everything.

So, should you get kolossus killer? I would say yes. It's definately better then the invisible deck, or other similar tools and one of the better wallets around.

Honestly I don't see any issue. The kolossal killer is extremely easy to perform and I've never been caught. In fact, I don't even think its possible to be caught.

If you have problems with this effect, feel free to PM me.
