You want to backpack Kathmandu alone?? I would strongly advice you to go with someone. Jane visits Nepal pretty often and it is a truly brilliant place for outdoors or trekking. Do let me know if you need any help, I'm sure she'll be more than willing to give you a detailed guide of what to do there.
Oh only one airline flies there btw...Thai airways...
