Markiebeth - August 6, 2005 05:59 PM (GMT)
Into ballads, punk rock, alternative. I play the drums and my previous band is like slowly breaking off, looking for new blood. Anyone interested?

dimsumdemon - August 7, 2005 02:08 AM (GMT)

J-Rock? I listen to x-japan, damn good.

Oh ya, songs include those from greenday, nirvana, cranberries and some misc here and there.

Seriously Im trying to start doing originals instead of covers, lack the musical talent to write songs though. lol.

Kevin - August 7, 2005 03:33 AM (GMT)
I play a little bit of guitar, but I'm dedicated in learning new stuff and mastering it. Whatever song you want me to play, I'll learn it to the best of my ability ;)

I'm a songwriter, and a musician. (won't say what i play. go search the forums).

More importantly (to me), how old are you?

Well, you can search the intros for my age but knowing that will take time and searching for the type of songs you play will take time too, I'm 22 this year. So what songs u play?

Kev, once we can consolidate a decent group, vocals, bassist, rhythm/lead maybe we can go to aljunied to jam?

[Ling] - August 7, 2005 12:49 PM (GMT)
Hey, I do vocals, but it gotta depend on what the songs are you covering etc. I'm restricted to metal mainly, playing Cradle of Filth, Dimmu Borgir, HIM etc. I'm covering mostly HIM songs. ^_^

I got a band to commit to after my Os, Infernal Saint's the name. :P

Aljunied ain't too far from where I live. That would be most wicked ;)

Ning - August 7, 2005 04:49 PM (GMT)
You guys want a band manager? ;)

Good luck with this project!

Markiebeth - August 7, 2005 05:39 PM (GMT)
Those who are really interested can add me on msn, mark_tkm@hotmail.com

Maybe can get super strong IT or something so guitars are controlled to float and play by themselves in midair hohoho.

Ling, u dun do punk rock? Metal should be fine, must get accustomed to it first though.

Kevin - August 7, 2005 07:05 PM (GMT)

dimsumdemon - August 8, 2005 10:10 AM (GMT)
hmmm... I think im outta the league.... i used to play lead guitar on songs like hotel, metallica and l'arc-en-ciel stuff. You guys can carry on. I still prefer jrock and pop....

Best of luck. :D

Barney - August 8, 2005 03:14 PM (GMT)
Ok. I'm into rock, pop and classical. Punk Rock, i can do, (if you count Simple Plan as Punk Rock).

Btw, i play the elecrtric guitar and keyboards.

CLJ - August 8, 2005 03:41 PM (GMT)
Simple Plan is pussy-pop... not punk rock. Have you heard their song "Untitled"? The lead singer sounds like he's about to have a nervous breakdown. Plus "Welcome to my Life" is played on the blogs of 12 year old kids all around the world... that should say more than enough.

No, I don't play any instrument. But Simple Plan IS NOT PUNK!!! and someone should stuff a lead pipe down their frontman's throat... RARGH

I play the guitar, from swing to neo classical. But my main interests lie on punkrock (bad religion, rancid, unseen, lagwagon, those kinda stuff and no little whiney voice bullshit), ska (all the way from the first to the third wave, though i like skapunk/core more tho), and hardcore (stuff like thrice and hatebreed). And some black/death metal here and there (agathodaimon, and may be bleeding through).

I do vocal as well :)

Agree! Simple Plan is more of Punk Pop. However the reason for me saying so is not because 12yr old's use their music on blogs. Not fair to justify it that way right?

If a 12 yr old has say rancid music on his blog, that won't make Rancid pop either hmmm.

Simple Plan isn't even punk pop... it's just pop. I mean, listen to something like "Untitled". That's not punk. That's just the way their songs are, not just because 12 year old kids all around the world hail their music. I don't listen to any hardcore punk bands from the 80s or something like that, but Simple Plan are for smurfs.

I listen to American Hi-Fi, Something Corporate, Mest, Sum 41, A New Found Glory, Brand New, Blink 182, Fall Boy, Story of the Year, Sugarcult, Yellowcard, the All-American Rejects (they aren't punk per se though), Taking Back Sunday, and even some Pug Jelly. But not Simple Plan/Good Charlotte/Nickelback stuff... y'all SMURFS

Alright. So i play what you term as 'pussy-pop'. But what the heck. You talk too much for a guy that says:

QUOTE
No, I don't play any instrument.

Anyway, to stop this endless debate of which band belongs to which category, i shall restate the genres that i specify in, for both guitar and keyboards/ piano.

Rock (both hard and soft)
Blues
Jazz (swing)
Progressive Rock
Metal
Progressive Metal
Pop
Country (dun ask)
Techno (keyboards in particular)
Classical
Neo Classical

and finally..

QUOTE
pussy-pop.
:ph43r:

And oh ya. I'm a paid session musician. So pls don't tell me where/ what to play. I play where the money is. B)

Markiebeth - August 9, 2005 08:56 AM (GMT)
Whoa chill out guys, no point arguing right, to each his own views, peace :)

Oh ya Barney it would be great to have you join us for a jam session or something but then again unless ur willing to do so for free, doubt we will have a chance? :P

Keyboards = November rain = something I have always wanted to play but no chance too lol.

CLJ - August 9, 2005 10:04 AM (GMT)
Wait, where in my post did I ever say anything about you specifically? All I said was that Simple Plan is pussy pop and that was all I wanted to point out. So unless you're some super Simple Plan fanatic that stalks Pierre outside his hotel bedroom and has posters of David splattered all over your room walls, I don't see any argument... dude, I didn't even "tell you what to play"... all I pointed out was that they should have candy canes up their asses. Why you even said "if you count Simple Plan as Punk Rock"... and I responded with my own opinion. and yay for you for being able to play so many genres.

Oh yeah, Simple Plan still sucks.

:!!:  :P :D :o :ph43r: :g: :off:

Music is music, peace. It'd be interesting if we have a SMC band though... magicians/ musicians. I can help you find groupies too ^_^

Ah.. Now that's more like it! It's the most sensible thing i've heard so far that concerns the forming of a band. :g:

Markiebeth - August 10, 2005 07:48 AM (GMT)
Hey Barney, i added u on msn already la but then u didnt reply. Anyway doubt i can afford ur charges so please help me out for free. :P

Anyway I'm in camp now, catchya maybe this weekend or something.

Oh Ning 'pussy' is just a cat so i guess there's really no need for you to do any editing :)

Ning - August 10, 2005 07:57 AM (GMT)
Meow! :ph43r:

Barney - August 10, 2005 07:59 AM (GMT)
Oh so sorry! My MSN tio virus. Ya know, THAT MSN virus.

Anyway, i go free most of the time lah. I charge if it is like a one time gig, or just-for-a-month-only type of band, or if you wanna record just once and never again. I basically hate time restrain-ment.

Since you are free and easy about it (and so am I), i'll take it as a side project. :g:

Hope i can fit in well.

And oh yeah:

Meeeeeeeeeeowrrrrr....... :ph43r:
