Hey guys! i am thaddeus... i am devasted. Moi mom just conviscated 2 of my alladin decks and 2 eagles deck. She also conviscated some of my gimmicks! Hey mom.. u all wanna know why? that is because she does not want be to be involve in magic... i had come that far and u all dun have to thk of me quitting magic... But i once quit for 1 week and i camed back to magic... my passion is to entertain people through magic... so help me... What should i do??? :(

You should start doing floating table to your dinner table..Do liquid metal to all your cutleries..Use flash paper on your bed..and use your m5 near the television until she returns you your cards.. :)

Or heck..Just new a new deck..

Ask her why she won't allow you to be involved in magic. Try to make her understand that it's not anything bad or will affect your studies.

(Buying more decks will just get more decks confiscated)

Maybe its what you did that cause her to confisicate the decks? Are you practising too much that you neglect your studies? Ask her why and you might be able to talk to her and come to terms.

Yea, this kind of things did happen before to me, but mine was definitely worse, and I believe only my friend, hihs knew.

My case; the reason was because of studies and blah blah blah, but actually its the teachers' fault and their "guai lan - ness". Not because she called me parents then I gave such a comment, but that fu*ked up teacher of mine really deserves a beating or a tight slap across her face. Damn, even when I talk about this now it pisses me off.

Okay.. chill, and not to go off-track. You should find out why she confiscated you magic stuff. There must be a reason to it. Mostly its because of it affecting your studies or overspending? Thats the most possible reasons.

Then talk it out man. "Okay, I promise you I'll work hard, and IF my results next semester doesnt come out okay, you can confiscated my stuff back." Of course, it can be bullshitted or better, u meant what you said. ^_^

Oh yea, when she returned you ur stuff, and u knew u bullshitted that sentence, go to your nearby provision shop and get a couple of locks and hide those treasures. <_<

Parents never understand what magic is, IMO. They think spending hours in front of the mirror talking to myself is insane, and that $49.90 for a card trick is even more insane.

Its like, "Hey dad, can I show u a trick i learnt today?"
- "WHAT?! You went to learn another trick?! Didnt you learnt one like 2 weeks ago?!"
- "Oh heck, can u please watch first?"
- "Sure, but not for long."
- ......................................................
- "WOW, how did you do that? :blink: "
- "Hahaha, dont tell you, $49.90 for this is damn worth it now that I've fooled you."
- "WHAT?! !@#$%^&*() This piece of junk for $49.90? !@#$%^&*( I can eat 10 meal with that amount of money!!"

And it just keeps coming. Dammit.

First of all, why did your mum confiscate your decks ?

Problem #1:

Adults never really like their child to play with "Gambling" Cards, so therefore they are always trying to stop us from going near magic as they think that if you are in magic, it's essential that you must have a "Gambling" Deck with you.


Solution: Move into other areas of magic beside cards, learn some coin magic and show it to them.

Participate in SMC Charity event and get a "Thank you Cert" and contact our Event Admin so that you could have CCA points in school through this Charity event. I am sure your mum would be proud of a son whom is willingly to contribute to the society with Magic as a SKILL.


Problem #2:

Ask yourself this - Have your result been going down slope after you pick up magic ? If yes, is it magic which actually cause this ? How did it causes this ?

Solution: If magic is affecting your studies, do a time schedule so that your studying period or homework period wouldn't get mess up.
You don't have to practice for 12 hours a day to be a better magician. Remember Quality always beats Quantity, just know where does your error lies and correct them and practice on that for 1 hour.

The rest is all up to you. Study Study Study and Play abit later on. :)

I think the problem lies with his mum.

"better concentrate on studies"

That's because she's a christian and you cannot do anything about it.

Well ... We are magicians, we know what is magic and is magic real or not ?

It's how we perform which make people believe whether is it really magic or not.

Yes, we can't change her mentality on "There is no such thing as magic".

But somehow we can change mentality of "Wasting time and money", just prove it that with this new found skill. You could actually contribute to the needy, and i believe she will look magic in a different way.

No Offence, i did perform to a church (duh ~ of course christians), the feedback i got was not really that good afterall as they believe in god and not magic.

But they somehow found it rather entertaining. So who say you can't entertain christians with magic.

hey please, practically no one believes in "magic", and i tell u most christians are OK with it. magic now is an expressive art form, entertainment, its not a religion...

if u say christians think magic is something evil, then either 1: u do not understand christianity OR 2: these christians do not know their own religion.

and its a fact, a well-known fact, that there is NO such thing as real magic, and there is no need to try and convince ppl magic is real. the more u try, the more obstacles u face. besides, if u can really do magic, why not make ur mum disappear?

my advice is just to try and talk out terms with her, if she's unreasonable and want 100% her way, ignore her. do not give in to force (hide ur decks), keep doing magic blatantly, have it ur way, and soon, she'll desperately seek a compromise.

Hey! Thks everyone 4 all ur comments.. i thk i noe wat do do liao... i still buy a deck or two and practice with cards painted white on both sides or with pokemon cards! yo only when i perform , i use the decks.. But i will KEEP THE DECKS IN A SAFE PLACE... lol. thks everyone!

LOL... there's no need to paint your cards white, there are such a thing as double black cards, yes, even on good quality Bicycle stock my dear :lol: Good luck with your magic!

i know this comes a bit late... but yes indeed Christians do practice magic, there's even a branch of magic called "Gospel Magic" where we Christians use magic to emphasise / illustrate biblical events / concepts... maybe you should find some articles online then print out to show her?
