Title: Review Extreme Beginner Dvd

hanct - August 9, 2005 04:43 PM (GMT)
I wonder if anyone in Singapore has gotten this dvd. Cos I heard tat last time, 100 dvd for this is sold out, so I wonder if anyone had gotten it.

Another question is: I am intending to get Cradle to Grave, but anyone knows if the flourishes in CTG is also included in Extreme Beginner Dvd? If yes, then I wont borther to get CTG.

Another question is: When will it be release to public? I went to the website for this pdt, it seems to say that it will be released at Auguest 5. But now is already 9!!! PDt still not out??

It's already been released at Ellusionist (causing quite a fiasco, I heard- so many people ordered it at the same time that they got errors for order pages), so I guess you can head there to go buy it. As for any Singaporeans being in the "first 100", I doubt it- maybe some seriously dedicated d00ds saved the cash and had their trigger finger all locked on the soon-to-be-active "ORDER" button, sleepless overnight. Maybe not.

Back on topic, I can't give a review of this, since I don't have it yet- who here does? Judging from the trailer, this one is quite a catch, and the people who DO have it have all given compliments to it. However, you will NOT find any moves from CTG in here- CTG is "a band apart", as I'd like to call it. Plus, the difficulty level of the moves in CTG are NOT for anyone who considers himself an "Xtreme Beginner" in the first place.

Hope that helps.

Here are some of the review by the Handlordz members themselves. (Those first 100 that got that DVD.)

Maybe you'll be saying: since they are from Handlordz, they'll definitely post good coments about it. But, it's really for yourself to judge.

Well... i think XB is good. Do not get fooled by the name where they say beginners. Cos it is more advanced than i thought it would be... Maybe just for me it felt like the stuff taught was good.

I don not think that any or most of the flourishes taught in CTG is taught in XB. But then again, XB goes over all the basics of stuff like charlier cuts, fanning, deck division and so on...

The bonuses/ special moves taught in the DVD was also good. I feel that the teaching in XB is good. I learned relatively quickly, not repeat too many manipulations taught over and over again.

I believe that is more or les what i have to say about it... I am going to continue watching it now. :D
