Gday flourishers,
I guess its better to post this question here as we have lots of experience flourishers in this forum.
Ok, i have a few question/scenarios in terms of crediting people.
1) If i learnt a new flourish through a flourish tutes but could not do the flourish the way the creator/teacher taught. Ie. i do my own variation. (80-90% his and 10-20% mine) just so that i can do it my way. I still have to credit the creator rite? But if i do so, most likely some people will say ah.. u did the "XXXX" wrongly... etc etc. So how do u go abt with that? Is there such things as right and wrong?
2) every move i include in a flourish vid has to be creditied right? even if its just one flourish move i learnt from a systemer. Oh talking abt that, ive seen vids where they credited the main flourishers but also mentioned thanks to all the systemers. Basically wat im asking is if its necessary to credit every person's name or just the main ones? I think the answer is yes?
Last time wat i did in my flourishcut vid was i put every creator's name as i only know a few moves from them. But now i learnt more and there so many creators already and its kinda a long list to list all the creators move (which i use) down in the vid.
Furthermore, how can u be sure whether its ya own move or others? everything to me is jsut a variation of moves we learnt. so how can we say its our own?
What ya think? Any comments? Im sure some of u have these questions in mind as well so its good to discuss and be clear abt it.
Cheers!
Brendan
What I do in all the videos I make is just credit "Moves By:", and then mention people who's moves I've used. That way, it's legitimate for both the original flourishes AND variations of them that you've made. Plus, although people don't usually watch credits all the way through, having just a simple list as the "Moves by:" one ensures that the credits are short and sweet, while at the same time leaving everyone who deserves credit happy.
