oh heres the effect.

Effect : A borrowed cup of coffee is covered by a coffee lid for an instant and when uncovered is seen to be filled with coins or bugs! Just as quickly, it changes back to coffee!

Theres another effect that's kinda similar; The Coin Casket, performed by David Blaine.

But The Coin Casket can visually change the coffee to coins, under the spectator's nose, which does not need any cover. However, its a gimmick cup and there's a setup involved. Well, I almost bought it, lol.

This Vincenzo Ravina’s Caffeine Rush seems interesting.

yup .. i saw the performance by david blaine on tv before.. but i don't really like the fact that it uses gimmick cup. I hope this one doesnt need the use of gimmick cup and can be done without the lid too. haha :P

There has been some reviews in the past which are not very good. You need cups similar to Starbuck's cups with lids. Some preparations are needed.

I wouldn't recommend using bugs for this effect. Ravina used my idea (with permission) of using coffee beans.
