Title: Invisible Deck

iNvIsIbLe - August 27, 2005 03:17 AM (GMT)
hi..guys..can i know anyone has e invisible deck? can i know e review of the product?is it good..??

dtjk - August 27, 2005 03:36 AM (GMT)
ID is an extremely good mentalism prop, I would say. However, to me, I feel that the handling is quite hard (Maybe I noob), and I'm not 100% confident when I perform ID comparing to other tricks.

I've seen my friends use their ID decks and probably flash or flop it probably 1 out of 5 times. However, if done properly, the reaction is bound to be good.

Also, check out Extreme by Bryan Will, the "ungimmicked" version of ID that can slap ur audiences twice (2 surprises).

R_jayz - August 27, 2005 12:05 PM (GMT)
Invis deck is a great magic trick to add to your arsenal... If the handling is done well, you're bound to get big reactions.

Niktra - August 27, 2005 07:29 PM (GMT)
Get from The Little Magic Shop. :)

I heard that the Black Tiger Invisible Deck is better in handling and performing of the effect than the normal Invisible Deck. Anyone who owns both of them, dont mind giving ur opinion?

Well the Black Tiger ID would be more expensive. I would disagree that the effect would be better. Basically the audience would have a higher tendency to suspect something is amiss when they see the BTD. This is so as the cards are like really 'nicer, more unique' as compared to the normal bikes.

I would say that perhaps the brainwave deck is slightly better since there is a twist when you show that the thought of card has a different back colour as well. :)

I agree with Mark.

However, Brainwave's only flaw is that the effect cannot be performed twice.

Thus, depending on the situation, if you're doing stuff like Street Magic or Table-hopping, Brainwave is definitely a thumbs-up.

ermm..can i know how much did little magic shop sells for the ID? i would like to get one too...but i still think a normal bicycle ID is better cuz its loks more convincing..compare to the black tiger ID..

Niktra - August 28, 2005 05:08 AM (GMT)
I was asking about the handling <_< . As in the spreading and showing of cards, Black Tiger's seems better as i was told that u could even do a fan of the deck without 'showing what u dont wan to show'.

Any experience to share about this?

Yep a normal ID looks less suspicious than a Black Tiger ID, but maybe if u use normal Black Tigers deck to perform other effects before performing the BT ID, the spectators wouldnt be suspicious?
If u want to use ID as an opener, then i would also suggest the normal ID. ^_^

Niktra - August 28, 2005 05:10 AM (GMT)
Brainwave kills too! :P Imagine having the card the spec merely thought of being the only face up in the deck, then turn its back to show that its the only red card in the deck as others are all blue.

Its like a double slap across the face of the spectator!

Amazing, I guess you can do that with the normal ID, maybe apply less pressure when fanning? Not too sure if they use different stuff for the BTD, both should be Rou***** F****.

You can fan and spread with the normal ID as well. Not a problem.

And i too feel that the BTD is too gaffy looking even without any gimmicks.

Actually it's possible to create your own invisible deck. But it'll be better to order from dealers. Save time and trouble.

Euphoria - August 28, 2005 02:44 PM (GMT)
 whats the difference between brainwave deck and ID?

blur.... :D

please enlighten me.

Thank You.

Brainwave the thought of card is face up and not only that the back of the card is different...

Invisble deck effect is the thought of card will be face down in the deck.. :D

oh...

so the handling is the same. just that the Brainwave cannot repeat due to the color?

nyx - September 1, 2005 04:14 PM (GMT)
brainwave cannot be done repeatedly to the same group of audience without the 50% risk of audience suspecting something..

Invisible doesn't have the problem.

--------

though brainwave can't be repeated, one of the rules of magic is never to repeat the same trick, at least not until some time later.
==brainwave wins

--------

using invisible, some friends thought i had super fast hands to turn the card over when taking out the deck from the box.

using brainwave, they have never thought that i could change a card that fast into a different backed card.
==brainwave wins

May I know the difference in cost between Invisible deck and Brainwave deck? Thanks

Ning - September 1, 2005 07:46 PM (GMT)
There's about the same price, just a dollar or so apart... there's the Royal version if you want, but of course most performers prefer the Bicycle brand version :P Email me (no PMs please!) if you're looking for these gaff decks.

Cheers ^_^

Check out Peter Duffie's version of invisible deck, he has a clever and powerful way of presenting this effect. It kills!

whaleson - December 18, 2005 04:51 PM (GMT)
hey, i'm a beginner so i wanna know if invisible deck needs any sleights to perform? or can be picked up easily?

bigbadwolf - December 18, 2005 08:02 PM (GMT)
it's very easy...

u will be shocked by how easy it is to perform...how impressive it is determines on how strong your presentation is

Daraketh - December 18, 2005 10:51 PM (GMT)
no sleights needed really..

just get the spectator to think of a card and u open the box and go thru the deck till u see the face down card.

Hi,whaleson.. I can say that the invisible deck involves totally no sleights. It is super easy to pick up. You can pick up within 1 min once you have bought the deck. Trust me, it is one of the most visual mind blowing trick i ever had. The audience will get shock in their life and speechless. As Daraketh had just said, just get the spectator to think of any card he/she want, and the surprise will come!! :D

whaleson - December 19, 2005 04:16 AM (GMT)
oh man shucks! that means i have to spend money again!! haha
cool trick.. I just got started recently and my wallet is getting thinner and thinner! argh.. need to get a job man!
kk thanks guys

Jeremy - December 20, 2005 08:35 AM (GMT)
JUst a tip for ID performers, rty not to ask the audience to THINK of a card, THEN name it. In their eyes you just 'degraded' your magical abilities of mind reading.

instead, ask them to just say out a card randomly.

oh, before i end, the ID is the single more impressive trick you can do with a pack of playing cards using that little skill.

Incarneto - December 21, 2005 04:36 AM (GMT)
Yep Agree... Try to make ID short and sweet.. It really kills!

iNvIsIbLe - December 21, 2005 12:09 PM (GMT)
Yupz. Sometimes if you take too long to tell a story of the invisible deck, make them shuffle invisibly..the audience will get bored easily. I have experienced it before. So make it short and simple is better.

Ace - March 11, 2006 04:55 AM (GMT)
Well this is one routine i used... Get 2 Decks... One is the ID the other is a normal deck... Lay the 2 infont of the audience and ask him to pick either one... If he picked the ID jus continue with the trick...and show him that the other deck is totally normal (without the card facing down) and ask him haha why you know this deck(ID) got ur card? If he choose the normal deck just ask him to choose one and place it face down inside the deck... Then perform the ID... Haha this case u won't get questions like "Do i have to name the card?'

AcT - March 11, 2006 01:53 PM (GMT)
well, invisible deck is very common now ... done on some specs and they say they see it before.... >.<

W3iRdKiD - March 31, 2006 01:15 PM (GMT)
Hey just wondering. Recently checked out the Invisible Deck on the Ellusionist website. Apparently they also have a book on several other effects that can be done with the invisible deck :) Anyone has the book care to give a review? :D

AcT - March 31, 2006 04:41 PM (GMT)
i remembered cyril performed a trick using ID, but a completely different method and effect.

i dont have the book. but i think using your own creativity, you don't need the book =D

must be something like performing 25 tricks using svengali.

vennomz - April 1, 2006 07:33 AM (GMT)
i prefer ID over brainwave as the colour of the card named will affect how you take the cards out of the case and sometimes the colour of the deck do not match the case while using ID does not make any difference
