Title: Classic Pass
Description: thoughts to share

Haven been practicing cards lately...gotten quite lazy. Was back in SMC looking at some treads and surfing the net to see if any new card tricks came out in the market but to no avail. Thus I decided to get in touch back with some excersie and routines.
Due to the fact that i haven touch cards for quite some time, decided to practice abit of classic pass again. And to my horror, not only gotten slow, the most important thing was, didn't do it smooth. As i personally custom-made a three-way mirror, [ a triangle mirror that opens up to show three sides, left right and front.] I decided to look into my pass again. and sigh...really gotten slow having the worst exposure on the left side of the mirror. I went back to my basics again and gotten it all fix in awhile.
So my conclusion and question in this thread, I'm just wondering how often do you guys practice your classic pass? everyday ? every once in awhile? Just curious how others practice their tricks?

it depends on how hardcore you are into cards i guess.
for me, i'll take my pack of cards out whenever i feel like it, ranging from a few hours to about 6-8 days, and get a hell lots of pass while i'm watching tv.

I practice my passes 2 hours a day. I go through my list of 68 passes and I do all of them in front of a mirror.

Hmmm... thats so interesting..i dunn think theres anyother freaK like Black wing liao..I only play with it when i waiting for my DOTA to start..or when i watching online taiwan shows...
anyhow, i dun go through extensive passes...i think a few for me is enough, those wat table pass leg pass all i think no need lar....go through 68 passes is quite nuts i think. lolx... but still..erm...very professional...anyway, i only do focus training once in awhile when i lost touch. and with my 3 side mirrors, it covers everything i need. So,...its extremely useful for whatever technics im using, including the Heinstein Shuffle which im learning. I recommand you guys to get it.
Probably i should post a picture of it for those interested. Mine is custom made, i dunno anywhere that sells such stuff.
anyhow, hopefully more poeple start posting how crazy they practice their passes....
keep it rolling... :D

believe me, its extremely easy to get distracted. I'd do a pass, sybil for about 2 mins, do another pass and I'd be distracted again. Flourishing is addictive you know?

Hey Nick,
Someday, can you share with me ur 68 passes? Haha. You know I'm a "pass-manic" like you. :P
LarryDK - September 9, 2005 03:24 PM (GMT)
Pass, i always use a pass when i need to board a bus or train. :off:
Anyway, everytime i was in a bus or train, i will do some sleights with my cards.
But cant do much, i will do the pass slow than trying to do it fast. Cause when ur hand get use to the motion, it will be so much easier when u speed up.

for me i practice my sleights, pass similiar with larry, when i'm travelling. provided i can find a corner sit. i find standing up attracted too much attention thou.
other then that i'll juz practice at home if i'm not eating, shiting, drinking, typing n so on so forth. i do it randomly, sometimes DL sometimes elsmly, passes, routines etc etc.. :)

Yo dtjk, I'll show you my list at the open meeting. Many of my passes are original so ummm I can't teach you everything
Anyway Larry, I laughed like hell when you said you use a pass to go on board a train. haha.

I've been in magic for about 2 and a half years. Not as good as everyone else but my pas*** are pretty smooth. :P
R_jayz - September 13, 2005 12:57 PM (GMT)
68 passes, that a lot compared to my 2 passes and some other unmastered ones... i only use the table-tap pass(or whatever it's called),cause that's the only one i've practised on...
though this is :off: , i personally dun like to practice in public, unless i can really find an undisturbed spot where the is no one to look... i've seen some magicians practicing on trains and bus stops.. look kinda lame and show-off...
fume - September 13, 2005 01:28 PM (GMT)
true, that why corner seats are for.. i realli dun encourage practicing in crowded trains/bus etc. there might be some ppl peeping frm behind, thou they might not know what we're actually doin but for me i juz think we should not risk.
dark_law - September 14, 2005 12:03 PM (GMT)
i doubt the public cares, and i doubt they noe wats happening, and some might think ur kinda "learning to gamble". i saw s1 do it on bus be4, though i initially thought it not a gd idea. However, somehow, it turns out to me that it is a very gd way of time management, Since i am travelling and has nothing better to do rather than looking at the beatiful singapore senery, i think it really is a gd solution for busy ppl like me.
jus my opinion, by the way i dont think its show off unless ur deliberately showing and let other ppl noe, making it very obvious like springs, cuts........... though i usually jus pracise a few false shuffle and a couple of DL, the occasional BRS thats all and a few really basic moves (since a am afraid that my "precious cards might drop on that, well, "a bit dirty floor: of the bus....
oh and by the way this is totally :off:
fume - September 14, 2005 12:22 PM (GMT)
yea, sometimes ppl dun really care. but it's juz sometimes :) the onli time when everyone stare at u is when u drop ur cards
dok - September 14, 2005 05:00 PM (GMT)
When there's tv, I do sybils
