Title: Flourishing
Description: learn?

dragg - September 15, 2005 09:19 AM (GMT)
anyone know any place where i can learn some good flourishing ? hmm.. i prefer a mentor rather then videos.. dunno why .. haha

Brendan - September 15, 2005 09:59 AM (GMT)
Kev's tutes are best. His KFC and blind swivel deluxe is easy to learn and looks great. Other than that.... u can also keep practicinng on sybils, if u dont know how to do... i think expertmagic has a free tute on BRS... im not sure if they still do.

if u need a mentor ... hang out with the pros... tat's if they wanna hang out with u... lol. im sure there are some out there who are helpful and can give u the right tips. Also... go for magic/flourish outings... get to know them.

Most importantly.... practice, practice practice.

Cheers!
Brendan

1) Get someone to teach you the basics (Z-grip, etc)
2) Get Brian Tudor's Showoff vol, 1 & 2 form our online dealers.
3) Practise, or rather, try to memorise the moves first, then attempt to put them in either

i) a smooth order
ii) a (&$#(*)&$ fast manner
iii) Both of the above.

4) Come to meetings and show off your 1337 Sk1||ZOXORZ.

piece.

Why would he wanna accept you when you dun even post an intro of yourself.?

dragg - September 18, 2005 11:23 AM (GMT)
=p.. so fierce for wad..

Russell - September 18, 2005 11:38 AM (GMT)
Everybody is required to post an intro first. Hes most probably fierce cos hes irritated that the standard of posts in SMC keeps on dropping.

Alexander - September 18, 2005 12:18 PM (GMT)
Well, why not post introduction of yourself? I mean, are you too ashame of what you're doing to magic?

Heres from your friendster profile:

About me:
\\ below are some advice for fellow magicians.
+Respect is a virtue that all magicians should have. Respect other magicians (even if you do not care for them), respect your audiences, and respect the art.+
+No trick is worth performing if the secret to the trick is more important than the impression it makes on an audience. What could possibly matter more than the sheer impact a trick makes on the audience? The worst mistake a performer can make is thinking that because it's hard it's going to be good+
+If your close-up repertoire begins to fall short of amazing, resort to locking yourself in a plexiglass box for a month without food or water over the Thames River in London. LOLS+
+In order to acheive the impossible, u must firt believe it is possible.+
+never degrade other magicians. firstly it degrades the art of magic. secondly it shows u have no class.+

very very cool.If u do read those who previously try to sell,or rather EXpose magic to e public which is not even theirs at e cheap price then we would not have to write some 2 page long post again. good luck for your "lesson/cheap exposure" then.gd luck n dun get caught. there's sth call "piracy". unless u tell me u're teaching ur own tricks n sleights, then i'm very sorry.

------------------------------------------

alright guys, if u wanna be a successful musician, first respect ur instrucments u are playing..
OH WAIT, i left my guitar in e bathroom since last month when i am juz too lazy to polish it and got no other place to keep it. oh god, there's a scratch, heck it's so tiny. and by e way who wanna buy my guitar for 5 bucks? :off:

dragg - September 20, 2005 01:35 AM (GMT)
most are my own routines .. if u never know .

then if someone is interested in magic , and he wants a mentor , u charge a thousand? if he's really interested , the amount doesnt matter .if u can produce another great magician , why not? if everyone was like that , paul harris and sankey wouldnt have produced lecture notes and videos for us to learn from? u reprimand me for teaching , but , i have a student whom i dun charge at all . so there . as long as one is interested and willing to train hard , why not? when u began learning magic , if there were no one to teach u? no videos to learn from? how? we were once in the shoes of others whom wish to learn magic and had no way to learn . now that we found sources and become good magicians, if a person comes up to u , and ask u for lessons cuz he's ambition is to be able to perform magic , would u teach him? were u in that position once? haiz. and i only take one student at a time . so there.

dragg - September 20, 2005 01:43 AM (GMT)
orh . =) would post an intro soon after my promos.. in 3 days time . =( anyway . im not here to argue , just wish to widen my knowledge. no one stops learning. hmmm. oh i managed to get showoff 1 and 2 .. and the teaching is rather brief.. =(

 Gen X is too difficult for you.

Judging on the pictures of the card fans on your friendster account, too difficult... too much.

Btw, before i forget, remove heaven display please, its supposed to be underground. I learnt my lesson the hard way.

IMO, you need to hone your skills as a magician/flourisher first, before doing anything to happy laymen. We ain't trying to be mean in SMC, but er, your entry was rather rude and honestly, i don't like the way you see magic.
