What type of Linking Ring routines are there? And which one is your favourite?

I know of great wong chinese rings routine, shoot ogawa's ninja ring routine and the more modern and hip style ones.

Many of the ring routines are divided up by the number of rings used in the routine. There are some great two and three ring routines, as well as those that use five rings and eight rings. More than eight rings would be overkill, in my opinion.

Related are the other linking objects besides rings- linking ropes, silks, coat hangers.

Finally, there are ring sizes to consider. I discovered many years ago that I could magnetize the five inch rings and work miracles with no key ring. There are also ring on rope, and finger rings to add.

So your question is not as simple as you first thought, is it?

My favorites? Linking coat hangers and a straight eight ring classical routine.

Linking Rings...Hmm.. Classic of the Classic..

All time fav of mine..

There is plenty routines of Linking Ring. Getting the volumes of Jeff Mcbride Stage Magic would worth the investmetn for what u want to get.

There is also linking bard wire...with heavy duty golves. Something that is unique..

Linking Clothes hangers...

Check those out.

If you trying to do with close up with linking rings..

Shoot Ogawa is the best of all..Ninja Ring. No doubts.

The Linking Rings are a fabulous effect which have stood the test of time. They can be done on stage or in a more intimate venue.

My own routine, which I created myself, borrows moves from the greats like Cellini, Richard Ross, Aldo Colombini, Dai Vernon, as well as moves of my own creation. My routine is recited in verse. The rhyming patter provides a rhythmic pace to the routine, punctuating and synchronizing each magical event with the rhyming script.

I use Owen 12 inch stainless rings with the standard key. I have their locking key but find it is not needed and actually makes some of the links more difficult. I use 6 rings: a linked group of 3, two singles, and a standard key.

The Stevens Linking Ring Video is an excellent resource. It shows Richard Ross and others doing and explaining their routines. :)
