i've performed stage but not for charity. i guess they are more or less the same la.. We perform for one thing: to entertain our audience. When they are satisfied, they'll donate.

Probably u need to do something with good impact and have some jokes on people not donating and incoporate some "kindness wins the day" message throughout your show or in the last act.

Stage magic performances doesn't have to be for fund raising. You could do it as a form of volunteering.

Personally I've done a few stage shows for underprivileged kids and elderly at nursing homes before. To me, performing FOR FREE for them is charity enough as seeing them enjoy the show and laughing is good enough (at least for me)

As for what props are good, it depends on the style or character you wanna portray to your audience and also the type of audience (kids/ elderly/ adults)

My experience is very limited still, as I've just started magic barley a year odd. I hope what i just share can help u in a way or another. Or just wait for the more experienced people (u know who u are ;) ) in here to post/ share their opinions.

:)

I agree with nyx and revelc, I never do stage before but according to my 1 cent knowledge, i guess we must look at the space and the group size, A 45-minute magic and illusion show that is specifically designed to meet the needs.

You can include smaller illusions, comedy and parlor magic appropriate for audiences of all ages. You’ll see mind reading, sleight of hand are just plain good ole great magic and lots of fun! B)

Assuming that you are performing to the donors and not the patients, you might want to see what the core values of the place is, and if possible tie it up with the show, for example, illustrate, on how people and why the people need the donors help.

Please refrain from doing things like paper ball over the head.. especially to disabled people.. etc.. yea... hope it helps..
but please don't get preachy to the people.
