Title: Magician Top Hat
Lefty - October 24, 2005 06:23 AM (GMT)
Many stage magician have costume like mr bottle with his black and white blazewith look so cool. So just a question, where do you guyz get your costume and what do you think of a stage magician should dress up in this 21st century.
By the way, where to get a top hat? I am hunting for 1, but i can never find it.? Or is Top hat just looks stupid in this era?

wow... (Firstly, TY to RH89 for telling me abt this post!) Thank you for lefty for the comment. (I am a lefty btw if you happen to be one!)
I made mine from everywhere. Shoes, coat and pants are from HK. My second set of coat and trousers are made in some country which I don't know....
the shirt is customised made in singapore. there are tailor shops around that do that. Many foreign magicians come to singapore to make them. Do go around esp. orchard and see it! But I know some magicians made them at costume shops which are very professional looking.
Well, for my costume, it was very long time ago when I came up with this concept. There is a reasoning behind this (abt going back to the basics, like neoplastism... argh, not easy to explain.) but I feel that the results has worked well for me because:
1) When ppl sees me, they recognise me as a magician (even if I am not in the jacket)
2) children will find my costume funny
3) ppl remembers it
I think you can get top hat from dealers in this forum.
Think carefully WHAT you want to portray in your magic show! good luck.

Hello.
I just saw Toys R Us (Forum, Orchard) selling magic with top hat.
Its a collapsible top hat. By Fantasma Magic. Perhaps you might want to check that out?
I also think that there is a magic shop that sells collapsible top hats. But i think you have to order in advance..(Cost around 90 Bucks) Maybe you want to ask around?
Hope i've been of help.
