This trick has a ' ok thats quite cool ' feeling. It does five out the ' holy shit, he just did magic ' feeling. Get what I mean?
Yeah learn a nicer matrix dude. But this is pretty good already.

i'm new but it seems quite obvious how it was done... this is the basic coin matrix isnt it? Are there anymore kinds?

How come your mat is so small?. If you use a bigger mat, you'll have difficulty pulling off your coin matrix. Anyway I feel that your camera should not zoom in so much. Good try though ;)

Do u mean more difficulty or less with a bigger mat?

I think you should not just lift up the cards just like that and show that it has travelled. It is better to give it a rub first then lift it up to make it look more magical and another thing is you did it too fast. When you lift up the cards that time, is better to pause for a while to let the audience have the "wow" feeling.
If u like it, you can make the coins travel back to their original positions.

Mat is too small already. Also the last phase when you pushed the coin under the card to make sure all is in, that was not neccessary. Hmmm, 6.5/10 as it lacks originality.

7/10.
More effort needed to do the trick with more style.
And, yeah, made the 'wow' effect better.
brokenvow - November 2, 2005 04:49 AM (GMT)
Not a bad try though. The mat looks like it's cut out from a carpet. And you've got 'filmed' wrong spelling, u spelt 'fim'. hah.

It is not a mat at all. That is a sheet of paper which is rough.
And cadbury , there are alot of coin matrix. One with pure hands which I am still trying to get a hook on it.. The one with pure hands is confusing. Sometimes the coin teleport the wrong way. But there is one... Not coin matrix but coin across. I like it man. Any pros here know coin across? And where can i learn it? :)

You mean chink-a-chink(dunno if spell right)? you'll need a close-up mat of carpet or anything soft to do it well. As for coin across, there's a lot of them. More then one definitely, thad. :)

don't forget Shoot Ogawa's crazy variations.
i hate coin matrixes as they require a mat. An interesting note is that you can perform this on a pool table but thad my boy, you're still too young to go near a pool table. :!!:

hey Thaddeus,
good try and a very well done. though not as smooth(flashes) enough, but i'm sure you can do it better. i preferred this effect to the other coin effect though. you probably can do it just a bit slower and smoother. yeap 7/10

That is downright mean lol. Don't worry Thaddeus, just 4 more years.

best matrix i've seen in years, should be put up for FISM.
Markiebeth - November 3, 2005 06:52 PM (GMT)
C'mon give the guy a break. It's brave enough of him to actually put up his video so...;)
Well, I guess you just need to work abit more on your matrix and of course, your grammar -_-'
R_jayz - November 6, 2005 06:00 PM (GMT)
wow a coin matrix. how uncommon, ok let's see...
first of all i dun really like the way you put the cards on each of the coin, it looks rather messy and people might think you did something in the middle of the confusion..try to put the cards on the coins cleanly and as open as possible..
the revealing of coins can be improved, don't just cover, lift, cover ,lift. no impact at all. try to give it a "snap" sound when lifting the cards(that's what i normally do, people would think that i flicked the coins, although they know it is impossible :) )
video editing not bad, music doesn't fit....
overall not bad, but can be improved. I give it a 6.5/10.
