Title: What To Choose?

Lefty - November 7, 2005 04:05 AM (GMT)
Hi there.

I am about to get a DVD on flourish..
Which one should 1 get?

The system? Gen x? Gen extreme? Showoff? Extreme cuts?

Very confuse....

Thanks for your help... :)

I am not a flourisher. But i got started on it last 2 weeks. Here is my advice. If you are a beginer , get the xtreme beginers. If u think you are good enough , get the cradle to grave. De'vo rocks!

neo23 - November 7, 2005 09:01 AM (GMT)
if ure an extreme beginner,
get Xtreme Beginnerz

brokenvow - November 7, 2005 09:15 AM (GMT)
Showoff is pretty ok, cept that Brian Tudor has no skills to be a teacher. So you might want to stay off this vid first.

TayYH89 - November 7, 2005 09:52 AM (GMT)
Xtreme Beginnerz
Cradle to Grave
Both by De'vo

These 2 are good enough for your flourishing needs.
Unless, if you are interested in fast cuts etc, get Gen Ex or D&D System.

I think it depends on your budget too. ^_^ Say if you're on a tight one, get Showoff, not the showoff with cards by penguin magic <_< , the Showoff by Brian Tudor. There are 2 volumes to it. Xtreme Beginners is fine though. Alot of material in it. It all depends what you want to learn, who's style you prefer and how much cash you have right now. Perhaps after you've answered these questions you'll find the answer.

I believe show off 1 and 2 are in VHS format so you might wanna take note. And Show Off 1 is no longer being sold while it takes quite some effort to find a place that sells Show Off 2

Showoff 1 teaches one handed revolution in detail, one of the first moves you should be able to master before moving forward. In fact, Brian Tudor actually TEACHES on that video; sybil, bad habit, upside down card spring. Same goes to Showoff 2.

Seriously guys, thanks for the great respone and help.
OK, i dont really have a budget but hopefully the price isnt crazy.
Maybe i would tell you what i know
I know stuff like 1 hand cut (basic), the triangle one, and the turn one, think it is called revolution or something, sorry for the poor english. 5 pile display (the one that goes up wards) and also the sybil i suppose. :D (And also around 5 kinds of those flourish with 3 pile)

I dont really do research on Devo DVD, so maybe you guyz can recommend me something suitable.

Thanks guyz. :)

Dragon - November 8, 2005 12:31 PM (GMT)
You might wanna replace "pile" with "packets". Yeah eg. Five Packet Display. ;)

For Devo material, try getting the Cradle to Grave. It's action-packed. I'm serious. But one thing I like about his stuff is that it is really easy to learn from. He makes you go 'AGAIN' 'AGAIN' 'AGAIN' and again. And lots of angles. Thats what I like about it. But it has got no vocal instructions though. Just some music that he mixed I suppose. Irritates you sometimes but that's not the point. :P I think you could go to their official webbie at superhandz.com to see the trailers and buy whatever that makes you happy. All of them are kickass items. :ph43r: De'vo's da devil. :D

I spent 3 days in watching Showoff 1, learning only 1 move called the GREAT one handed revolution cut. <_<
1 thing to take note is, Brian Tudor's teachings is rather "fast". :)

Cradle to Grave is good. :D

Lefty - November 9, 2005 04:09 AM (GMT)
OKay guyz

From the response, i suppose i should really consider Cradle to Grave

So how aobut the System?
Is it really too crazy to learn at my level....?

thaddeus - November 9, 2005 04:54 AM (GMT)
Nono. Not cradle to grave.Get the extreme beginers. Trust me. Don't get the cradle to grave. Get the cradle to grave after you mastered the moves in xtreme beginers.

neo23 - November 9, 2005 03:21 PM (GMT)
i object.
CTG is not for begginers.

better to get Xtreme Begginerz to start off ur basics

Lefty - November 9, 2005 04:47 PM (GMT)
K guyz from the above mention 'very basic' that i have, how much can i learn in extreme beginners and how far can i go? What kind of flourish would i should expect to learn in extreme beginners?

Sorry for asking so much questions, because i am afraid to waste money on the wrong DVD. :)

neotrident - November 10, 2005 03:18 AM (GMT)
XB teaches basic 1 hand cuts and armspread.all sorts of basics..
but from what i heard,it is pretty gd..u should go superhandz..they have a complete list of what is taughtt in there..

With De'Vo's teaching,u should be able to pick up very fast..

TayYH89 - November 10, 2005 03:33 AM (GMT)
Am I allowed to post links? Nevermind...

XB is basically for beginners. It contains around 50 moves, mostly basic moves that you may find simple.

As for CTG, it's slightly more advance. Only around 10 moves, but they are definitely unique.

Daren - November 10, 2005 06:31 AM (GMT)
maybe, i think u can consider the system, since u know the one handed revolution, actually u can get any DVD, as long as u're dedicated enough and willing to put in time and effort to learn the stuff on the DVDs, u will be able to. So all u need is TIME, MONEY and DETERMINATION.

Jeremy - November 10, 2005 06:42 AM (GMT)
money......... lol

Andy - November 10, 2005 10:18 AM (GMT)
It is possible to learn the flourishes taught in the system but it does pay to know not only one handed revolution, but also the bad habit. and how to do one handed revolution while maintaing some sort of a sybil (sorry no idea wat is that move called).

I never got to watch show off 1 or 2 and hence had difficulties learning the madonnas in the system (still having tons of problems with Madonna 1 and 3 :( )

However, there are many other stuff in the System such as the Wurm, Molecules, etc which does not require u to know stuff from Show off 1 and 2 and are fairly easy to learn.
