Hi guyz, This is regarding the gathering ( not a formal one) at shaw subway sometime ago...

I was actually looking very forward for the gathering as i could know more magicians and exchange tips or something and also the get to know who am i talking to at the forum... and to also collect my DVD.

I reach there at around 3, when i got there, i dont know how to approach these big group of magicians, so i starterd by saying ," errrr, are you sherman? the guy who i order DVD from?" then he say yes, instantly look away and take out the DVD. After collect the DVD, he turn back, so is like i wanted to join in to this big group but dunno what should i do to get into it. After pretending to analyze the DVD for around 10 sec, i clarify myself as Benny, so i got answer like OH so you are ben rite? And again i clarify by saying i am lefty... I think i am too NEW or what, then they like go Ohhhh, lefty. Instantly all turn back again into the group and i stood there with the "dunno what to do" face. luckily i think it is James who approach me and had a quick intro, later he got to talk to someone else, so i pretend to call someone and took a sit at a corner slighty away from the group...... then after dragging to conversation with my friend, i finally cannot take it, so i told james that i need to go magic castle to get something but actually i was just trying to avoid the very embassrass situation. :unsure:

I personally felt very upset about the gathering as i am like a wieldo or like a "nobody give a shit" person... although i am a noobie but just feel so "cannot click" with SMC. :unsure:

Maybe i am just too new in SMC and like everyone in all these informal gathering know each other....... So i guess next time i would just attend to those SMC gathering, or maybe i should just be pure forumite...... :(

organise one more and i'll meet u. i'm so noob i cant even fan properly.. need help on my fanning. And i'm currently looking at dvds and learning some tricks...

i think i know how can this problem be solved..all the "newbies" meet ttogether first in a group then easier to mix with the other groups because 1 group is better than 1 person... :g: haha sorry for bringing this old post up though..

Ya..I also agreed. It is because some people maybe shy or not confident to meet those "old bird" magicians. I think it will be a good idea for all those newbie magicians to meet up together first. Any newbies over here?? :)

if you guys are shy or not confident to meet those "old birds", you guys will be wasting your time at the meeting. the "old birds" don't owe you anything. don't expect them to come to you being all friendly and lovey dovey.

haha but by taking the step to attend the gathering, it shows that you are somewhere there..all you have to do is to smile and introduce yourself!!! oh invisible, you have just found one..me
