Title: Beginner? Cliche Topic?

whaleson - December 18, 2005 01:14 PM (GMT)
I'm so sorry guys, it's a very common topic but I really do not know whether i should go for Born to Perform or Michael Ammar Easy to master card miracles or Daryl Encyclopedia of Card Sleights!!

though i understand that Michael Ammar is more of cards effect while Daryl Encyclopedia's emphasize on sleights huh but I am a new starter who wish to learn. Having a hard time to decide which to go for!

Price wise, do you guys have any ideas? in terms of full vol.

If you are a beginner suggest to start off with Born To Perform, where
you are taught some basic moves apart from some intermediate
and advance moves as well. The DVD also contain a few card routines.
I believe you really have to get your foundations strong and right
before one can do good card tricks.
Michael Ammar's easy to master card miracles series teaches you
card tricks and you are expected to have master the basic moves
and sleights already before going on to the card tricks. So his series
should be the second step.
I don't have Daryl's stuff so can't tell you on that one.
Cheers and have fun.

i'd say born to perform..

btw isnt the encycylopedia like 8 volumes? must be quite expensive.

Yeah. "Born to perform" by Oz pearlman is more suitable for beginners. It teaches you the basic foundation of card routines and a bit of advance stuff. Michael Ammar's series are also easy to learn provided you already have your basic foundations there. The tricks inside these series are easy yet stunning too. Well, michael ammar also have 9 volumes too.

i say Daryl Encyclopedia of Card Sleights

its like a complete course in card magic, work yourself up the volumes.

i have my reservations about BTP.
