Er.. hi guys..
I'm a newbie and just started learning magic for a few days. I intend to surprise my girlfriend. Is there such a thing as an appearing rose that can be shown really close-up? (maybe the distance between you and the computer now)

Well there are 2 different methods which I have used.

1. Match to rose.

Its a gimmick where a match turns into a rose. The rose is not examinable so you might not like this one.

2. Flash to rose.

This one needs F***H paper. Burn it and it turns into a rose. It can be shown quite close up but make sure you don't burn your hands or even worse, your girlfriend. And yeah, the rose is examinable.

There's quite a no. of methods u can use to "disappear" the rose. Depending on how u want to present it. Top** or the Raven method could be utilised.

I used flash paper, a mini self-folded sponge rose and a real rose for a similar effect. Appear the mini sponge rose from a flash, then do some simple vanish and appear sleights then eventually vanish the sponge rose. So while the person is looking around for the sponge rose, u make the real rose appear.

Only did the above described effect once cuz it's not everytime u do this kind of effect (if u get wat i mean :))
