Another charity event by NCSS (Sharity Elephant event), as this one is quite near the Fund Raising Carnival of SCS, i suggest we dun all do everything. Will be good if we split up by ourselves so that we can cover more. But of course, if anybody wanna do both events more than welcome.
Do note that there is one more coming up that's from Canossaville Children's Home which is still tying up with us about what we can do for them. So again I would like to suggest that we try to spread ourselves out so that we can service as many organisations as we can.

For this one, you can come for 4th or u can come for 5th or you can come for both. There's no fixed time for us to be there but it was suggested that we be there from 12 - 3 pm, which is the peak period.
Erm, no fixed time doesn't mean just walk in and perform anytime and walk out yah? Please let me know who wants to do this one and i will give your contact details to the organiser so that we can come under that umbrella.

4 & 5 Dec, 2004, 11am – 9pm, Singapore EXPO, Hall 6A

Target audience
Families, children and Singapore heartlanders

Launch on 4 Dec, 2004
A launch event will take place on the first day of the carnival, i.e. 4 Dec. Acting Minister for Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS) Dr Vivian Balakrishnan will be invited to officiate the opening of the carnival.

Activities

- Voluntary welfare organisations (VWOs) will be invited to explain their services and conduct workshops.

- A centre stage will be set up to stage performances like line dancing, song signing, wheelchair dance and skits with public education messages.

- Singapore Idol finalists will make special appearances to interact and mingle with the audience.

- There will also be display of Assistive Technology devices art and craft works by clients of the VWOs.

- Employers will also share their positive experiences about the employability and ability of people with disabilities in the workplace.

- People with disabilities (PwD) who have excelled in specific arenas and overcame adversity will also share their experiences.

- Tele-matches and games will be lined up.

Well to get ready for a routine or an effect, you have to practice the presentation and etc of the whole effect. Therefore you need to perform it to friends or family member to test out, if not meet up with me and some of the SMC member, we see how we can help each other out on presentations. ^_^

There is no fixed timing for the performances, but there are certain "peak" periods. You are welcome to come and go whenever. What are the timing that you can make it for? Can i count you in for this one Maestro?

After much consideration I think I'd better not join as I probably won't know what hours I can make it (if I can make it at all) till that day itself :( Sorry about that

Well, you can come down to support us. For the entrance, it's a charity event so it's probably open for all. Even if a pass is needed, I should be able to get one for you guys quickly on the spot.

sure man... but i need some suggestions on routine tho... and prolly need to learn some rubber band and other routines frm u morph or anyone else for that matter coz it'll b my first public performance... think my balls will drop and roll on the floor many times over man... but ah heck i'll try anything at least once... at least that's what i tell myself.

As for passes needed... i can only do the Hermann... but not good at it heh B)

That's the good part about walk arounds/street magic style, it's easier because it's reall guerrilla warfare. There isn't a need for a routine as in an opener, some flow thru the body and a finale. You can just do individual tricks as they are.
So you stop someone. Show them a trick. If they are nice show them another. Tell them to have a good day, and move to another part of the crowd. So just think about what tricks you are comfortable with doing and you should be fine. Expect to be surrounded thou so nothing with angles.
