dimsumdemon - January 17, 2006 08:36 AM (GMT)
Wella, long time haven been in here since i touch down in india, i got another freaking 3 more months before back in sg. Gees....if anyone is going india for training, do look for me, im in the armour admin team. =]

ok oik, so lots with cards and coins, getting older by the days and with all those newest gadgets out there in the market, gahhh...seen enough and had enough. So wats up with this topic? no idea where to place it, but i think bar magic is really close up magic.

I believe there should be some bar magic tread somewhere else...lazy ta find, and internet cafe hard to find in Mumbai also.

So here I am out working and yes, usual travelling around and this time round in India, Ha, got to see street magic, gone are the good old days those ah pek sell cheap tricks at DAIMARU and along the streets, i get to revisit them. And I was surprised that they were selling these dancing dolls, damn funny, they will hug and dance and stop by the command of the seller, obvoiusly we all know how its done, but yet refreshing.

I one nite here i am out in the bar having a drink, talking to some old man, i suddenly remember some bar magic i had at had quite a fun in the club. From glasses to napkins to toothpicks, coins bluff and tricks, [ the old talking trick on how to get the coin outta the glass] and jokes. Thus, I think its quite fun to revist some old bar tricks, cos i got snooke out by some of these peeps, I think its quite interesting to explore.

Just my 2 cents worth to share, hopa you guys are all well in SG, at least im still survivng...bahahhahah

Hey dimsumdemon. Nice trip you're having. Keep us update yeah?

Anyway I think the youngest magician to ever win an FISM award was an Indian at the age of 14 or 15. Shocking eh?

You're right. One of the oldest trick in magic, the Cups and Balls originated from Indian even before Jesus Christ.

BEFORE IN BREAKS CNY HOLIDAYS, HERE IS SOMETHING I WANNA SHARE WHICH HOPEFULLY STOPS ANYONE FROM GAMBLING, AT LEAST GAMBLING WITH CARD SKILLS TO WIN, THATS CHEATING.

wo lala, im back man....with more stories....err....think SMC gonna be like my dairy....freak....ah days in INDIA......here comes part two of magic discovery.......

MAGIC ENCOUNTERS IN INDIA 2:

ADULT MATERIAL INSIDE, DUN READ IF YOU ARE NOT 21...LOLx
[do block this msg if admin thinks not approapriate]

ok ok,... not reallly an encounter, but part two is sorta like thoughts again on magic. OKie, having explore magic for a good coming 1 and a half year....[there about lar] i thought i know my cards well, so i was too niave to think i could literally use magic to save someone else's life. So the other day i was, being forced to play DAI DEE with other peeps....gamble somemore, say play small money....wa lan eh....1 card 50 cent sing small money...bueh ta han.

So before all you asses think im using skillset to win big money, I am not. And even if i am, it ain't easy..ANYHOW I DIDN'T , if you read on you could figure out why.

So the rule for DAI DEE is simple, catch off guard 13 card is double, 10 ++ also double and we play loser stacking, means if i got 13 cards i lose 26 and if the rest of the two player each has one card means i lose each to them on a basis of 12, which by simple countculation each losing game might hit 48. and 1 card 50 cent oh....freak.... dun wan play also cannot. so halfway playing through the game, [yeah i was losing] and we had one beginner, i can't help seeing him losing 140 ++ cards....

there are some rules in DAIDEE, only winner gets to deal. so even you wanna stack, its a hardcore game which you at least have to win once before you can do anything. And it is random, because someone will cut the deck and the cut deck's card determines who you deal first......
[so what if you know passes, you can't forced a gambler cut can yar?]

so if you are a hardcore card fan like i am,with memory, it takes you at least skills to do heinstien shuffle, a decent pass, stacked shuffle, shuffle peeping, 2nd and bottom deals. And even if you know all this, you can't stack teh whole deck, only part of them. AND in a game of poker where you meet experts, even 1 card of 2 diamond is enough to finish you off....so the table was 4 guys, myself, a newbie and two experts. It was then that i know other than practical skills, this two had 1 step over me, memory skills. by looking at their own hand of 13 cards, they could sort of determine what you have, [ I dun need to explain how, if you are a DAI DEE player you will know] so however i stacked it, unless dealing 4 2s to the poor chap, theres now way he can save his ass even if he has 3 2s...cos he dunno how to play mah.
having that in mind, I played on decent, and i did learn alot from the pros.

In the end, he lose,i mean lost a big sum of amount, i was almost freaked out.

This is just a personal experience I had, dun ever gamble, or win using your card skills. Someday it will pay back and backfire. there are things out there which is larger than life, else or magician will be earning big bucks. The real gambler use their brains, not their hands.

Thus i highly stress again, especially when CNY and everyone gambles, DUN, cheat with your magic.

All peace and well in SG. =]

cny season = gambling season...

i think because I show too much card tricks to my family..

When I was dealer for blackjack, my cousins insisted on shuffling the cards..

hehe..

one of the downside of showing to much magic to people whom u play cards with..

Haven been posting for awhile, been awhile. Not even updated on the magic scene these days. Anyhow, was doing some ground and basic fundamental excercise.

The late 80s to 90s used to see teh uprising of passes ( if i'm not wrong). I remember seeing somewhere where they used to do full cycle of passes on a speed of 120 per minute. Thats 120 full cycle of passes every 60seconds. A full pass consist of the mechanic grip -to- the p**** -to- the pass itself -to- releasing of the p****. So there i was doing some practice the other day.

Going very slow on 44 at max per minute. ( the deck here is relatively small consider to bikes.) I'm sure you guys can do better. Anyhow, thats something to share for now. =]

bigbadwolf - February 27, 2006 02:17 PM (GMT)
