Title: One Handed Pass
Description: The Real One
retsevlys - February 2, 2006 03:29 PM (GMT)
Alright.
I'm posting this for Jeremy.
He's having difficulties uhhh posting.
Ok relax its not a video about it.
Neither do i want people coming up to me with a one way forcing deck.
i mean the REAL THING, the ability to do a pass using one hand.
does anyone know the handling? i've read it in bookS (yes more than 1) that its possible.
any takers?
i'm extremely interested.

Thanks sly. Anywas, i forgot to add. Discuss this sleight with me, and if you do come up with a practical handling for it, i'll be giving you a pack of Secret Weapon Bicycles, along with any credits you deserve of the sleight.
That is a deck consisting of Ace of spades supposedly dropped during the Vietnam war to make the Viets believe that it was a bad sign as the ace of spades represents death.
Pictures of the deck will be posted later.
So please, someone take up the challenge.
:D

Some pre-requisites/requirements:
-Its NOT a magic trick, its a sleight of hand mimicking that of the classic pass.
-NOT too angle sensitive, the angles of the classica pass is acceptable. However, nothing like using the charlier pass (charlier cut) as a pass as it deals with extreme angle presision (unless you come up with something that makes it less sensitive).
-NOT just passing 1 or 2 cards like a colour change, at least 10 or more cards please.
-Very slight misdirection is to be used with the sleight. I want this to be a utility move, In other words, it should happen in a blink of the eye.
OK. i know it sounds crazy, btu please do give it a shot.

I've got 2 versions. One is a stand up one handed pass and the other is a one handed table spread pass.
I'll send you a video but keep it to yourself.
And yes, they're real passes.

OMG :D
I'm extremely pleased to announce that one of Nick's one handed passes, is feasible and is practical without misdirection and can be done with speed. It needs practise but it's possible.
Nick's gonna post a video about it pretty soon.
Remember, NICK created it, not me.
But i'll make it better.

oh cummon guys doesn't mean that Nick has a method you all can't come up with more right?
;)

Apparently it is only Nick that is so obsessed with passes :P Anyway I do not really understand why a one handed pass when you can just do it with both your hands? Unless a person has some physical disability, I do not see a reason why two handed passes cannot be used.
Anyway it would of course be great to be able to do a pass with one hand, can show off too ya? :)

It'll somehow be useful, something like the One-Handed Top Palm. Also, you can cut the deck with 2 hands, but why is that such thing as the Charlier Cut? :P
Actually, I was trying out the Charlier version in front of the mirror (figuring how to cover the angles etc), and I find that it is POSSIBLE to be done, but risky nevertheless. Would be pretty useless if I can only do it to 1 spectator; ah heck, Nick, must show me your One-Handed pass next time hor.. Lol.

Maybe you can try to force something out of Daniel from Street magic and novelty. That time when I was learning my colour change (or was it the pass) there, he showed he something really amazing with one hand. It was not the herrmann shift. He did it as a colour change by flicking his wrist down for about 2 seconds and the card changed.
[Exposure edited. Verbal warning this time, but do watch what you say. This is a public forum]
I might sound crazy, but that's what I saw. He told me "See, I can even do it with one hand." and he flicked his wrist down and the card changed.
I don't know if he's keeping this move a secret, but I hope it stays one if he doesn't want anyone to know. I walked in another day hoping to learn it by describing it as a herrmann shift with one hand and Wei Ping's friend with long hair said I was crazy.
It's a crazy idea, but I think there's such a thing. Maybe Daniel wants to keep it a secret.
p.s wow, I didn't realise I talked too much.

I know that move, but I just cannot remember the name for it. Its a move oftenly used in Triumph effects by people like us, "I just snap my fingers, all the cards go faced-up." And you do the move and the top card changes from faced-down to faced-up; like colour change.
BUT, its not a pass. Its.. a colour change?

the one handed pass in Ninja 1 counted anot?
Joe112 - February 25, 2006 10:52 AM (GMT)
Eh. One-handed pass in Ninja 1 isn't even a pass :P
zomaziz - February 25, 2006 12:35 PM (GMT)
yeah.. i call it the fakie 1-handed pass.. :P
but still, its a good addition to ACR..

Lol. You're talking about the Vegas Cheat Routine. The 1-handed pass isn't that impressive unless the specs know what a pass is. Ambitious Card routines are generally performed without a pass, and with extensive use of DLs. (is this exposure? what constitutes exposure?)
