Title: No Plastic Cards?
W3iRdKiD - February 6, 2006 02:33 PM (GMT)
So for card tricks we don't use plastic cards? Why not? Or are Bikes, Tally-Hoes and everything else plastic cards? From what I gather from the previous postings they aren't. Or are they? I'm quite confused over this. Hope someone can clear my queries. Thank you

Bikes and Tally-Ho are not made of plastic, the reason most would not like to use plastic cards is because plastic cards tend to stick together, and of course the quality is not very good, hope that helps...

hey! nope we do not use plastic...we use plastic coated cardboard playing cards..haha :P the dealer in malaysia said plastic cards are too heavy(?!) one reason that i can think of is...sprinkle some salt/sugar/sand in bewtween cards(plastic and cardboard) shuffle slowly and start fanning...left to right right to left..whatever..you will find that the surfaces of your plastic cards will be scratched(this i learn from experience) when you fan cardboard cards, they will have lobang in them where the grains are..there you have it! oh one more thing...plastic contributes to global warming!! stop using plastic!!! :P

Haha okk. Anyway where can get card clip? From the dealers again? Haha seems like card clip can preserve card quality quite well arh, according to what I see from the other posts. How much is one of these?

I will really suggest getting a porper card clip. (Is it spell like tat?) But i know it cost a whopping 42-45 dollars per clip.
If you look for cheaper source, the dealers might be able to help.

I would suggest you to go for cheaper card clips for the start. Use it for a couple of months or so. If you like it, then go for the better and more expensive ones. Because most probably, you dont need card clips at all; you'll realise.
Unless you get one just for collection; Joe Porper etc.
