FRAGILE- - February 8, 2006 02:17 PM (GMT)
hihi, is faro shuffle a secret? if it is i apologise. i need help with it. i need tips for it.anyway to help with practising it?

I know the basic handling of the Faro shuffle but am unable to allow it to become a Perfect Faro. Do you have any tips on allowing the cards to weave one to one?' sorry for double post, not on purpose....

Practice and then practice some more.

Its a knack. Once you get it, it stays with you.

As mentioned, it's a knack one has to acquire. That said, I'm sure those of us who do use the faro feel that some decks faro better than others. Bikes these days; some have a "rough" kind of edge which makes the faro a tad bit difficult. Then comes controlling the In or Out faro.

Uhh. What's the difference between a faro and a riffle shuffle? Sounds like they're the same. Any videos?

you may want to read more about the shuffles. Riffle and Faro are complete different shuffle.. firstly the mechanics is totally different and what the shuffles achieves is totally different... :D

In short : riffle shuffle <-- little or no practise...
Faro <-- need patience & lots of practise..

Hmmz. Just saw a video showing Mats G. Kjellstrom doing one handed faro shuffles as well as 8 out faro shuffles. Uhh seems to me that he's just squashing the cards together :( Weird. Anyone can tell me more? Or would any more information be considered exposure

Faro shuffle is one of my favourite. It's not easy to do when you first start. But once you get the hang of it, you can even do it blindfolded.

I believe it isn't

When doing the Faro shuffle make sure the deck is in good condition A new deck will need to be faroed in. After about 10 faros the edges will be worn slightly making subsequent faros easier.

Do not grip the halves too tightly. As you butt the halves together gradually release tension on the deck halves. Sawing the cards or rocking them back and forth can also facilitate this perfect shuffle.

a faro shuffle is when you take to stacks of cards ( about 26 each ) and you weave them together by applying gentle pressure along the ends. It sounds complicated but the weaving effect is beautiful

Practise doing a partial faro first.

Meaning, use 13 cards and weave to the rest of the 49 cards. Once you get the weave, you use 26-26

Dunno abt u guys, but to me, the most difficult part is picking up exactly 1/2 the deck.
If you missed 1 or 2 during the faroing, it's still possible to get away with it by tweaking it a little or re-doing it. Not so nice, but possible.
But there's NO WAY you can cut the deck and then start counting to see if you got 26 cards if you are using it in your effect. :!!:

W3iRdKiD:
It's an utility move (like the DL) that hardcore cards people like to torture themselves into learning. I dunno what else to say other than that.
Please DON'T ask, "what effects can you do with it?"...
Because I will say "What effects can you do with a DL? Only limited by your imagination..". B)

but does it help if you angle the two packs?
