I heard (not confirmed), that my friend's friend got fined 3K for destroying Government's Property; $1 coin for folding coin.
Besides, I dont think a SG Folding coin has the jagged edges that a US Half has; just a sliced straight line, which i thought that it doesnt really sells the effect. Oh, and its like double or even triple the price too.

fined $3k?! how did he ever got caught? he performed it to a policeman?
$40 for a 20cent?! does it have the jagged ends?

err.. but if you can do it in a darker plce, the spec should not be able to see the difference between the u.s. one and the singapore..not sure never tried yet..haha but i think it should work...just hold the coin with fingers covering the front more...they should be too disgusted by the saliva from your mouth to actually seek out the engravings on the coin... :P

i dont know... maybe i go see one day....
hmm... you can use the normal US dollar coin bite...ok...let them inspect a normal us coin that is the same as the coin bite one... and just come up with some crap story saying that your grandfather dug it up some '' ang moh's '' grave and found it... then do a switch with the gimmick coin and do your thing... then switch back and let them inspect.
mods if this is exposure please delete.

lol isnt magic wand a chain of magic shops? ive heard from my friends that they bought bite out coins from the boss but i cant believe they break the law despite having such a name wif all these chain outlets around
LarryDK - February 19, 2006 06:21 PM (GMT)
What i know from the shop is, the mechanism for the coin is not well made, so its might not last long.
But its something that i cant be certain because its by word of mouth and ya, from wat i know they are the only shop that carry in. Hmm i asked before whether is it possible to made, the guy mention u have to send a coin to the states to get the manufacturer to do it.

I don't advice wasting the money lah.. I teach you a way you can use foreign coin.. Eg using half dollars first you take out a bunch of it and leave it on the spec hands or table ask the spec to choose one and hand it to you.. then you do the effect... It brings out the same reaction cos the spec handle the coin, they have a choose the half dollar from a bunch of it and they can examin how ever they like... just do a little thinking and magic can be done without spending so much money in making a local coin gaff.. do you think the spec really care if its a local coin or a US half dollar lol :D

wah! the coin so screw up ar..
seriously need to give it some 2nd thoughts already -_-

Why do you guys want to go through so much trouble to get a gimmicked SG coin, a normal US coin will work just as well. I'm not saying that its not good to get gimmicked SG coins but if the price is so exorbitant and not to mention its going against the law, I just don't feel that its worth getting fined or forking out so much cash for just ONE effect.
If you think that using an SG coin will make the spectators believe that its really magic then you're seriously delusional, in this day and age everyone knows that theres something wrong with the coin.
As long as you can let them inspect it before and at the end it will be strong enough. This can be easily done with a few switches.
