David Copperfield's Aces Production

He said it was a trick his grandpa taught him. The handling is great, and accompanied with the background music...the performance is flawless. :o

its called the grandfather's legacy and it is sold at thetrickery.com and magic castle offers a course on it as well.ultimate ace assembly on penguin is similiar to this effect as well but davids handling is elegant and great to watch

bigbadwolf - February 23, 2006 12:28 PM (GMT)
but the one penguin is selling is gimmicked right?

i was wondering if there is a impromptu one?

HarapanOng - February 23, 2006 12:52 PM (GMT)
there are definitely impromptu ones. The one i always do is called Reassembled Finale by Allan Ackerman.

Another one would have to be on J.C. Wagner's Commercial Magic video. (Can't remember the name).

A1 all stars volume 2 has it if i remember. Gimmicked versions end off much cleaner i think and increases the effect as it seems more impossible, u may want to check out Guy Hollingworth's "an ace assembly". Excellent handling of a gimmicked ace assembly but can finish off without the gimmick and hand off for examination

I am thinking of purchasing Grandfather's Legacy from thetrickery.com.
Anyone owns this trick and can offer me some advice if it's worth the
while to purchase it. I guess it's a set of gimmick cards just like
McDonald Aces right? Cheers.

This effect is a high impact routine.

But there are some key things to this effect. First, there is a setup needed. Second, its not examinable (But it wont be a factor). Third, you have to practise it long enough, and believe it yourself.

It is quite angle sensitive, considering the sleight used by david cop, but there is alot of ways to handle the presentation, so it is possible to make it angle proof. Each steps to the aces and vanish is important, so practise is really needed for this routine.

But neverthless, its a wonderful routine. Another great version is the dream of aces. If you thinking that once you got this effect and u can do like david cop, then try harder. ;)

does it covers everything in David Copperfield's routine?

i know the way he shows the Aces are from a trick call Shotgun Aces (Penguin Magic)

But i'm not too sure where to learn his color changes..(especially the ones in the last 2 aces)....sentence edited, no fishing please.<_<

Just to add on something.

Copperfield's Grandpa Aces consist of TWO parts.

The initial part of ace productions look like PM's Shotgun Aces while the latter is similar to PM's Ultimate Ace Assembly.
