Title: Ninja 1

pedialite - March 14, 2006 01:25 PM (GMT)
I watched about half of the ninja 1 dvd already.
I give it 5/10 cause it teaches good stuff , but , the dvd is VERY rushed and brad christian doesnt really explain and give tips on the moves , unlike How To Do Street Magic or the CC series. Hope this helps anyone whose gonna buy ninja 1 . ^_^

maybe its because you only watched half..
so after you watch all the way, it'll be 10/10... LOL....

nevertheless, i agree.
he does rush the material, but like he said, you can replay the disc to catch the move you missed out.. etc.

besides, ninja is supposedly the 'advanced' level.. while Crash course was like for magicians who just started out.. ^_^ just a thought. haha

Where can I get Crash course?

<Aaron> - April 7, 2006 10:01 AM (GMT)
dude, you can get it from www.ellusionist.com

our local ellusionist dealer just got banned for 180 days, so you might wanna wait? ^_^

Yeah, I didn't like Ninja 1 either. Brad didn't give anyone credit for anything. His excuse was "I'm bad at remembering this credit stuff". Not good. Ninja 2 was a lot better.

is ninja2 much better? cause after watching ninja 1 i dare not get ninja 2

bigbadwolf - April 8, 2006 09:32 AM (GMT)
get it from ellusionist, where else?

Joe112 - April 9, 2006 11:09 AM (GMT)
Ninja 2 is pretty good. However, for a DVD that is supposed to teach sleights, it doesn't have very many.

Ninja 1 focus alot on the pass.... I'll adivce people who wanna get Ninja 1 better have some of the basics down before getting it..... Beginners may have a hard time following the moves....

I think the invisible pass really worth the cost of the whole video... It's now my favourite way of controling a card...

Joe112 - April 9, 2006 11:12 AM (GMT)
It wasn't really much of a novelty really. The theory of using a big motion to cover a small motion has been used for decades.

Ace - April 9, 2006 03:29 PM (GMT)
 ? The invisible pass does not reqire big motion....at least it is not big enough to arrouse any suspicion... If it is big then the move was wrongly executed....

And yes the pass has been around for a long time but it is one of those moves that are not known to layman.... Even if you do it right under their nose they'll not notice it! That's why i love it so much...

THis Move may have been around for decades but some beginners may not know or could not do the pass smoothly hence i recommend they purchase Ninja 1 ^_^

LarryDK - April 10, 2006 02:37 AM (GMT)
Ace, I have to disagree with you. Yes, Ninja 1 did teach the pass. But i personally dun think its enough to cover what the pass is. The classic pass have alot of therioes inside and if you wan to know the pass well, better to get the book then using ninja.

If you dun plan to do that, you have to practise often, observe urself infront of the mirrors, from different angles or ask someone to take note for you.

But once you know the key of the pass, doing it slowly wont even arouse a single suspicion, thats beat off those that think pass is doing it fast.

Like what kev said before, faster harder, harder faster.

the theory of big motion cover small motion is a BIGGER motion covering a SMALLER motion.

e.g swinging your hand while moving your thumb. the movement of the thumb will be covered by your hands movement.

e.g2 invisible pass: actually it's just a classic pass using the theory of bigger motion cover smaller motion.upward movement of the deck:bigger motion than the pass, which is a small motion.

in older days, your master won't allow you to perform a pass if you cant do it 60 times in a minute. :)

<Aaron> - April 10, 2006 02:01 PM (GMT)
wow! isn't that 1 pass a second? haha cool. but in those days, you didn;t have to pay for learning! ^_^

haha anyway, are you guys talking about the invisible turnover pass? the motion isn't really THAT big, just turning.

oh and if you want to learn the pass well, i think pass with care by peter cassford by ellusionist would be good. i mean it looks good. ;)

i prefer to add the shaking motion when doing a pass! so it covers the any flash but still working on the sound though. :(

Yes the Ninja 1 cannot cover everything about the pass... but i think it is still quite a decent material for teaching the pass... At least for me i learnt it through Ninja 1....

However practice is still the key to perfect the move.... If you STILL can't get the move then like what LarryDK said get some books or other materials......

And the pass is not about speed....Its about how well you cover the move.... Sometimes the faster you do the pass the more suspicious it looks... The pass is more about cover and misdirection... There are cases where i already said i'm going to do the pass and i did it right infront of their eyes.... they still asked" Huh? You did it already?!"

Hmmm we seem to be going :off: haha
