bigbadwolf - March 27, 2006 09:28 AM (GMT)
take a look at Jay Sankey's

a very nice 2 card transposition.

Is it worth the 20 bucks?

Ace - March 27, 2006 10:33 AM (GMT)
erm..... i don't think its worth it..... <_< i'm sure most people... i mean magicians will know the method...

noob_magicx - March 27, 2006 10:35 AM (GMT)
yo man.. this trick is AMAZING~!!! i don't know if i'm a newbie or what that i can't figure it out but it's amazing.. but the thing is if anyone know whether the gimmick can be self made? it'll be better to be self made.. thanks guys and thanks to wolf for the introduction man.. :D

Com'on guys, whether a product is good or not does not depend on whether you can figure it out or not.
The fact that you can tell how something is done doesn't make an effect a bad one, and it doesn't make you a good magician either.
Especially when you could very well be wrong. <_<

I think the idea is quite interesting. But it probably has more potiential in the presentation than the way Sankey did to make it even more engaging. And there's a few variation you can do if you just use your imagination a little.

Well i'm not saying this effect is not good... in fact this is one of those killer effects...(although i prefer a simple "here then there") ^_^

i'm saying it's not worth it IF u can figure out a way to achieve the same effect without buying the gimmick n instructions... (why spend money on something you already know how to do?) i know this may sound like stealing Jay's idea but it makes no sense purchasing it when you can already do it... -_-

The effect and idea definitely worth more than 20 bucks if you don't know how this works.... Just buy it and i'm sure u'll have fun with it.... :D

That is the reason why I'm reluctant to show stuffs to some magicians.

Most of the time i'm not relunctant to show some of my own routines to fellow magicians.... even if they figured it out or even used them on their own peformances.... Actually there is this sense of achivement if your routine are being used by others... that usually means your routine is worth performing ^_^

Not if I paid for the routine while the others just use it for free. :( Anyway, this is off topic.

haha great idea.

Infact.. i think sometimes such performances are simple to do or figure.

But what is interesting is, why havent some one thought of something like that before?

Kudos to Jay.

ya....sometimes we tend to "over-attempt" to think outside the box and yet forget such simple applications.

Mindbender is a very good example. The solution is so simple i can perform it naked  -_- ^_^

What's the motivation behind removing the photo from the sleeve before handing the photo over to the audience for safekeeping?

I know some might say audience would not notice it and it will just fly by. However, there is no reason for doing it.

If the photo was inside the clear compartment of a wallet, then maybe there is a reason for removing the photo as you don't want to hand over your entire wallet.

I would say this is one of Sankey's weaker effects saved by his better presentations. For those considering to get this effect, you need a good presentation to make it look convincing.

Yes, have to agree with Exo, the effect lack of something, and removing it from a transparent sleeve seems weird, unless u have a good presentation to support it.

But even though it is a simple 2 card transport effect, it is Jay that thought of a transpo from a photo to the table, so the idea is still there..

I think the key thing about knowing this effect is that, there are alot of similar effects out there, its swhether ppl can think out of the box and create a particular effect that is unique to them, not the everyday ACR that u see.. Take a look at Huron's ACR..

I completly agree with you. I think even to laymen they will wonder why the sleeve is removed... when it is plastic. That is the weakest point of the trick and based on that alone will make people suspicious and start analysing about how it is done and so on. But over all nice effect.. just not slick.
