W3iRdKiD - April 5, 2006 02:27 PM (GMT)
Anyone has either of these decks? Just wondering if anyone can give some sort of a review about it. Seems rather cool  Might consider buying it. Is it as good as it seems?
i_neveregret - April 5, 2006 02:32 PM (GMT)
you'll get exactly the same thing as what you saw on net.
It's a little bit expensive so i DIY mine.
W3iRdKiD - April 5, 2006 02:35 PM (GMT)
Yar I agree! Price is an issue to be reckoned with  Only deterrance for me is the price I guess. If it was much cheaper I wouldn't think twice B)
WoW!! DIY -_- Cool haha. So you figured out its secret? Or you have the deck too?
I've actually seen the deck in action before at a magic shop in Singapore. The effect is quite amazing I think haha

well it have cartoon one and i think its pretty fun. if you like the effect you should get it. its very easy to do, suitable for beginers. you might wan to get cartoon if you can afford it because after buying cartoon 1 i still prefer cartoon2... oh ya there is also fartoon out there... :P
 i don't think you will wan totry to diy. you have to draw 54 cards and you must also how it works ^_^ unless you have all the time in the world
W3iRdKiD - April 5, 2006 03:17 PM (GMT)
 Wouldn't have much to do during NS I hope. Wouldn't mind drawing 54 cards :D I don't know the secrets of the deck though
On a side note, isn't there only 52 cards in a normal deck? Excluding the jokers?

Are you sure you are talking abt the same effect i_neverregret?
This effect is impossible to DIY. The only way to to buy a seperate/different gimmick and then modifying that gimmick into the deck.
The time and effort required is significant. And plus the cost of buying the seperate gimmick to remake this gimmick....
...I really think you are better off just buying it. Really just too much trouble.

Its available for like $15 Bucks? :P
ninku10 - April 6, 2006 01:59 AM (GMT)
I bought cartoon 1 not too long ago at the magic shop in bugis. It is $15 and i think it is worth the money. This effect is very suitable for beginner.
The nice thing about this trick is that the stickman can show any card that the spectator had chosen freely in the beginning. No force is required. The trick goes somewhat like this:
You show the audience a deck faceup and let them select any card they want. You place their card on the table. Then you proceed to tell them about your little friend that is drawn on the back of the card. You can tell them that you have been practising magic with this deck and your "friend" has learn how to locate their chosen card easily. To prove it, You riffle through the deck and let them see the stickman in action and producing their card at the end.
There is only one move to make the trick work and once you find a nice way to execute it nicely (not very hard actually, not a sleigh of hand per say) you will be able to amaze your friends. I had showed it to my friends and they thought it look cool to see the stickman in action and producing their chosen card at the end.
I would rate the effect 4/5 because the deck cannot be examined.

 wonder if can bargain one. Maybe try to bargain to 13 dollars if possible
Yar there's an Angel version one too. But don't think I will want to take that. Shall consider between cardtoon1 and cardtoon2 haha. Tough choice to make  Wonder if the shop sells cardtoon2 though
Anyway, thanks for the input everyone!

I'm letting go of my Cardtoon 2 deck for less than that :) It's the original thingy thing from Dan Harlan. Check it out
here ...giving away free stuff too!
Cheerios,
Ningy
PS: While there's Cardtoon 1 & 2, as well as, vulgar Fartoon spoofs, have you seen the Tenyo version where it has an animated fairy producing the card for you? Very very sweet!!! I heard that it's actually the original first. Every thing else (all the American ones) came later.
Anyone owns the Tenyo one?
W3iRdKiD - April 13, 2006 02:49 PM (GMT)
Awww man. :o Was in camp while Ning was having the cheap stuffs! Just came out and going back in tomorrow again  Maybe next time then. Thanks!
Watch the picture move and find the selected card
ANIMATION CARD
T-213
As the magician riffles the cards, a picture of a fairy starts to move on the back. The fairy divines a card that was freely named by the spectator. Dan Harlan, the creator of this trick, is a remarkable magician who has released many tricks to the magic community. However, this humorous and mind-boggling card trick (originally called "Card-Toon") is the one that made his reputation. The back design on this deck is brand new, and looks entirely different from the original Card-Toon deck.

I have cartoon 1 deck.I find it not bad as it is easy to perform.Ladies will find it cute too as i have performed it before.
Joe112 - April 17, 2006 02:05 PM (GMT)
Cardtoon 2=
Me: Wanna see something? This is my assistant, Paul.
(does trick)
Group of 13-15 year old girls: Hahahaha. So cute!
(Leaves)
I don't get very good reactions. The effect is a good icebreaker but not exactly amazing. i use it in the middle of my routines usually with the patter"I'm getting tired, so I'll let my assistant do the work". A bit of frivolity before the serious stuff starts :P
W3iRdKiD - June 17, 2006 01:06 PM (GMT)
Oh yar one more thing I want to ask. Doesn't the deck get kind of wrinkly or something after all that riffling??
voodoolong - June 17, 2006 01:22 PM (GMT)
After prolong using it will of course wrap concidering riffling everytime you do the trick.
eryanic - June 22, 2006 11:57 AM (GMT)
Cardtoon is one of the best animated card tricks out there in my opinion.
There have been differnet versions out there now....Fart Toon, Toony Angel...etc
all using the same principle i believe
