Well Magic to me and to other magicians in here is an Art. An art which we could really appericate and enjoy, why do i say enjoy. Enjoy performing to others i would say.
But to lots of laymen and hecklers, Magic is not an ART but just a utility to win/impress a girl, to attract more attention to yourself.
Some of us learn magic with some of the reason listed:
"I just want to know the secret"
"I just want to impress the girl i like"
"I just want to know more friends"
"I just want to entertain my friend"
"I just want to make a living using magic"
Some people usually ask me this, whats the difference between a FLOURISH and a MAGIC Effect. So this is what i will normally said, or should i say this is what i normally hear from other experienced magicians, to a layman FLOURISH is something which is attractive, beautiful, elegant in their speed, movements and etc. Magic is something mysterious but yet seem so far fetched, so i am just implying that to a layman mentailty.
Flourishing is something which take years to obtain and to perfect, but to a layman. Magic is something IMPOSSIBLE to them, cause they define it as MAGIC.
This isn't a biased statement, i am just pointing to a layman view.
I wouldn't deny that magic has already been part of our life, my life and everyone life in here. If not we wouldn't be here reading this article, anyway some magicians always say that i do not wish to be a gimmick magician. I would just say that GIMMICK is there to help you create some effects which your sleights of hand couldn't do, every magicians use gimmicks/gaff card and etc.
So Magician who use too many gimmicks effect usually would be call as a GAG Magician instead of a Magician, but i wouldn't anyone who can provide entertainment in the name of magic and yet succeeded would be call a magician.
Another familiar question: Are there Good and Bad Effect or Good and Magician
I would say there are no good and bad effect as different people has different taste, magicians normally said that this is a BAD EFFECT. Why ? due to their own personal taste and character, but other will like while you don't. Why would the MAKER came up with a BAD Effect ? Would you come up with a bad effect ?

In the past when i perform magic, i would USED to remember all the lines which i have seen magicians perform, but nowaday i would just remain calm and speak what i will just say instead of reading a script. This normally slows me down while i am performing as it takes time to PERFORM a SLEIGHT and to remember what are you going to say to the audience, but some pickup lines for the audience MUST BE remember, as this would normally make performance a MUCH more interesting one.
Have your friends avoided playing BlackJacks, Solitare, Big 2 and other poker card games with you. If yes, means they are afraid they you will use your "MAGIC" to cheat, normally my friends wouldn't dare to include me in a game of blackjack as they are afraid i might cheat. Just like Osterlind whom got banned by some of the casinos.
People normally ask me when did i start magic ? Is the years or month so important to all people, or are they trying to figure out how much do i know ? Well, some have that intention. Some just wanna know when did you started magic with no motive and causes, i started magic 1 year 6 months ago with an ON AND OFF Situation but i believe ren8585 who started magic 5 months ago has a better knowledge and sleight handling, sometime its not the days/months/years which count, it's how much you learn and how much you practice, you can know a sleight for 25 years, but it would be different if you practice that sleight for 25 years.
With this i am sure most of you will use your real heart to seek the real magic in this world. As magic doesn't really exist, but miracles do. May the magic be with you guys. With this i shall End
