Title: Crazyman's Handcuff
Description: originator?

Many have said that the effect is by Harlan, some say its Michael Ammar's. From what I know, its actually by Arthur Setterington from UK which was known originally as Penertrating Rubber Bands.
He passed away on 25th Jan 2006. He was a prolific magical inventor, writer and performer who has published over 1000 tricks and ideas in many magical publications throughout the world starting in 1947 in Abra.

Agree with you totally on that. CMH was then 'revived' after Ammars classic rendition when he did a whole teaching just on that effect alone. I suppose the only difference would be the presentation and style which the different magicians use. Best walk around trick I would say.

Wow...I never knew that and it's one of my all time fav effect. And he just passed away this year. I wonder what did he feel like seeing CMH so very widespread and popular.
One of the best impromptu close up effects ever i think, especially with a little subtlety thrown in....wow.
Thanks for the info.

i think most internet sites (or even local magic shops) usually just rename the effects and jack up the price. and there's nothing much we can do since... to them, it isn't copying. its a new trick called "quantum bandits"
heh.. and that's life.. ^_^

Navarrone - April 8, 2006 04:23 PM (GMT)
Well actually one shop did, I don't think I'm supposed to say anything bout the shop but that is what I heard....

not sure if this counts as a double post, but anyway, yeah, i'm quite sure local shops do that. :g:
don't think i should list any examples of the tricks or the shops, though
