i know some of these controlling shuffles like overhand shuffles, hindu shuffles. but no alot , so any one could like kinna tell me a good book(will be the best) that has these. must also be cheap. also false shuffles.

lol so what you want is cheap and good recommendations ya?
controlling of card during a shuffle ==> Royal Road to Card Magic (cheapest) or Card College (quite ex for one volume)
false shuffles ==> try Lennert Green volume 4 dvd (its all on false shuffles)
books on false shuffing...RRTCM has a couple of it, maybe card college will have it too.
Personally i felt that sleight of hands is better to learn off videos, at least you get a picture how the sleight looks like. Reading a sleight of hand may require quite a bit of visualizing.

Weapons of the Card Shark is good for false shuffles and cuts. The Dan and Dave System has a whole lot of flourishy false cuts as well. Check those out.

actually i feel that you dont have to know many false shuffles. Get comfortable with 1 and stick to it is the best. =)

If you're going to use them in a card game or use them more than once in a trick it's good to know a few though.

Instead of learning shuffle controls and false shuffles, learn card controls and passes.
It doesn't really matter how you shuffle cards unless you're a serious flourisher.

yup true black wing, i am on my riffle and classic pass now. hope to learn more passes. i liked the pass you did at the meeting, the suspicious riffling made it obvious that it was a pass

Weapons of Card Shark.... Tons of false shuffle....Fake cut....Deck Switch etc
If you are really a fan of card controls then you have to learn the pass... You'll have alot of fun with it compared to false shuffles (my own opinion) ^_^

Well, I am a newbie too, but I heard a lot of reviews online regarding beginner stuff.
Most recommended by people is the card college vol 1-3 by Roberto Giobbi. hope I got the name rite. Its a book series that teaches everything abt card magic. however, its pretty x.
If u prefer dvds, go for born to perform by oz pearlman. also highly receommended and wont burn a hole in your pocket.

I always use the Heinstein Shuffle for giving the deck a false shuffle. It is a completely in the hands false shuffle. Not too easy though. But it is extremely convincing - so convincing that I have fooled lots of magicians all around the world with stacked deck effects (I used the Heinstein Shuffle of course). I strongly believe that it is also the most accurate. I have experienced a clumping together of cards with the other shuffles and alsways worry if my stack has gone awry. Thanks to this shuffle I no longer have to.Cheers.
