Title: Hi Everyone
lumpy - April 10, 2006 03:57 PM (GMT)
Hey Everbody heres a short intro about myself:
i've been interested in magic since primary school when i picked up a magic book in Popular by Micah Lasher, but it never really took off until this year ( i'm 18 and in JC at the moment). i'm still pretty much a beginner and haven't really left cards to try and persue other avenues of magic i.e coins, ropes, rubberbands etc.
i have performed a few tricks to school-mates and relatives like Out Of This World, Wave The Aces, basic ACR and a very simple variation of Triumph, but unfortunately i've never performed to strangers or in public and i hope that this year will be my breakthrough.
Cheers,
Keith

I dont know why, but for one second I mis-read it as "Michael Asher", and thought it was a combination of Michael Ammar and Lee Asher.
Welcome!

welcome.
haha, i remember last time when i used to roam popular for magic books. Strangely enough, now i still do. "kiddy" magic is still great.
Who's Micah Lasher?

A very warm welcome.
I dun think "kiddy" magic is great. They sux by themselves.
But i can tell u that theres one book in Popular that i held in very high regard. It is a "kiddy" magic book (thats if u insist on calling them that way). I suspect the author, Nicholas Einhorn, is a very "intellectual" magician. Sorta.

Well, i got the book from the popular branch at Bukit Timah Plaza when i was in priamry school, and Micah Lasher is jus some young and upcoming magician, but judging from the fact tt you guys don't know him, he probabli didn't make it lol.
Anyways thanks for the warm welcomes :D

I googled the guy, seems like he is only known for that one book. The book seems decent. I found the table of contents for the book:
http://magicref.tripod.com/booksjr/lashermagic.htm Seems interesting - I might try looking for it the next time I go to Popular bookstore ^_^

hehe...
amazingly, as I grew from kiddie magic books to more rare books that is not sold except in magic shops..
I realised all are merely combination of the kiddie magic to produce a professional effect...
And coupled with a good showmanship and patter, it becomes a routine of its own.
