Title: Magnetising A Ring

blueheaven - April 23, 2006 10:41 AM (GMT)
Has anyone tried to magnetise a normal ring to perform those PK ring effects?
I think it'll work but not as strong as the neodymium ones

i dont think you can magnetise gold... or can you?

LarryDK - April 23, 2006 12:53 PM (GMT)
Doing that wont last the effect, its better to have a premade one that is a magnet by itself.

You can magnetise gold, because singapore gold is not pure gold, but it wont last, because it discharge quickly.

How about steel rings
Harder to magnetise but retains the strength longer

Lol. Larry knows everything man, his like the professor. Anyway i think it is very time consuming to magnatise a ring. I think buying one would be a better solution.

Any idea where to get PK ring for Asian fingers. The ones they sell on the
net is way too big for my fingers. Any idea if any shop here can do
alterations to make a ring smaller.

I have checked with the creators of the PK ring about alterations. Due to the nature of the ring, you cant alter its size.

There are currently 3 sizes for the PK Wizard Ring so you might just find one that fits you.

Cheers!

Get a ring adjuster. Check out ebay, many of these are being sold. I'm sure that would be a much better option should you really want to get the PK Ring. :)

I have very slender fingers but I fit a size 9 ring which is the size of the small PK ring.

Note that those are US sizes.

I carry both gold and silver Pk rings.

Haha, Exo, Never stop marketing your business le..

Anyway, Its still quite possible to get a ring size that fits you. One is custom made.

As for buy and ready, hmm you know those slim magnet strips?, You can experiment yourself by cutting to the size you wan and then fix glue or weld it together. :) Doing so might spoil the magnet, but its always better to do the magnestism.

Either that, normal ring wont take so easy to magnestise, because of the natural of ring, like platinum or gold, or sliver, those metal in pure state have high conduction, so they recieve electricity fast, but release also fast. To charge a ring to onli one pole, like negative charge or positive charge, in simple, north or south pole, you need to discharge one of the charges, like you wan to keep the positive, you discharge the negative one. Then you have a north pole ring magnet. Hmm the way to do it, is to force charge, which is, you make a circuit and use electricity to force the charging, (You use another metal or magnet, and while you charging the ring normally, like a inductor, you place the metal or magnet close to it, it will slowly discharge one of the charges) Or you do the convention rub a magnet onto the metal, but like i said, it wont last.

Y i know so many things? Because i studied Engineering, and Mechatronics, you need to know electronics, and materials. So its quite a general knowledge for me, cause i studies for like 7 over years in this kind of thing.
