Secrets of street magic on Starworld was on earlier tonight. Lots of exposure! Most of them were old school tricks though. As far I can remember there was rising card, voodoo ash, tearing off dove's head, twisting arm and raven I think... Can't remember the rest.

They exposed the raven?!? :blink: Noooo!!!! There goes the career of many a magician... (exaggerated but you get the point...)
Did they get someone to do all the exposure or just some host showing how to do each trick?

Someone wearing a mask doing street magic around. Show the trick then show how's it done. Actually if you are the sort who uses your own routines and uses sleights and real stuff ( like a real coin or using a standard 52 deck) in your tricks, you are safe. there was 2 card monte though, that's the only card trick using a standard deck shown.
Anyways I think these magicians on these kind of shows are those who are really really broke to the point the will do something like this or they are just greedy.

a case of the mask magician la. i think i have one of his vcd lying around, or was it on tv? i saw it somewhere before. i slept 15 minutes into the show cause it was dead boring. lol.
i guess these guys are too tempted by greed.

Can't tell who. He looks very erm... kanchong... I think he's wearing a blonde wig. His voice has been filtered also.

hmm...i rather think in this way. if we use the exposed sleights in other ways, (e.g use other DL methods, voodoo ash don't use ash, use chalk dust, use salt, use pepper. than name it as the Voodoo Salt...) the laymen would not notice also.
Sometimes laymen tune in too these shows to satisfy their curiousity..they will forget about it after a while. THe next time you perform a similar trick to them, they will say.."ay...I think I know how you do that."
Just shove the whole deck or whatever to the heckler and ask them .."than you show me lor.." :lol:
Anyway the raven is kinda passe already...let's change to the PK ring ya? ^_^ just kidding
