IPB do have the function to allow searching based on text or poster's id.

It's a wonder why it is depending on google and SMC's sitemap.xml for searching just indexes.

And indexes, depending on the update frequencies, are not immediate...

perhaps with the native IPB search function, it could do better to have better defined searches based on text words or poster's name...

The problem is search operations are very server resouce intensive. And the problem is for now, the forum is hosted on a server we do not own.

The server admins have disabled the search functions and have looked to Google for search capabilities.

Unfortunate, but necessary....

I run several CMS on orynet..

so far no problems..

of course, the only limitation is the monthly bandwidth limit due to the subscribed package plan.

It is abit hard to find if some topics have been brought up before.. An internal search function would be useful.. But of cos, like Aloy said.. Haiz.. Unfortunately.. Can't be done..
