Title: Super Sharpie
Sehnsucht - May 5, 2006 01:06 PM (GMT)
Just a quick question, is the super sharpie easy to use? short or long sleeve?
wolfieci - May 5, 2006 01:53 PM (GMT)
The level of difficulty: not very difficult, but it does require some practice to do it well.

are there magic shops in singapore which sells super sharpie? its ok if there is or isn't the companion video,I just need it real quick.

Considering the price, I feel that Super Sharpie is way overpriced for the gimmick. Practising is required for it, and its not that easy to use, neither is it very diffcult. ^_^

I agree with DTJK... I had a super sharpie but never performed with it because I just wasn't confident enough to pull it off (small hands, etc).
IMHO, get a nail writer or swami gimmick... they're way cheaper. What's wrong with pencil lead? :) I've got one and it's so easy to use. Unless you're doing it for stage, then I agree that marker ink would be a better choice.
Else, if you're new to this, why not start with something cheaper first? If you like the concept, you can than play around with the more expensive variety ;)
Just my 2cents worth...

oh in fact i have already a swami gimmick, the undernail writer. However since most of the time i have my nails trimmed short, its not practical for me to use it. So im trying to find an alternative which can allow me to do what a swami gimmick does anywhere anytime.

I'm using Dave Powell's swami writer. Its in a TT form and pencil lead, so you dont need to worry about short nails etc. Cost me around.. SGD20 odd dollars..
Well, in my opinion, why pay $70 for a Super Sharpie, when you can just pay $10 - $20 to get a pencil lead writer, since both, done properly, looks the same to the audiences? ;)

I used to use the super sharpie a lot! carry it everywhere I go with my business cards, and kept on losing the gimmick .Till now I have used 3 super sharpies and recently lost the 3rd gimmick. It is that easy to lose the gimmick , seriously!
On the effect , I do not carry a pencil or a mechanical pencil everywhere I go ,but I do carry a sharpie !and it makes logical sense to bring out a sharpie to write a prediction . Since I use my Stealth Assasin Wallet as my everyday wallet , it is easy for me to NW the info when the card is in my wallet.
It is NOT easy to use if you are not familiar with NW and it takes some time to get fond with . I am still having difficulties writing `names' down . It looks worse than a doctor's writing.........

Just a sudden question that struck me. Can you get Sharpies is Singapore? Not the Super Sharpie, but the actual, normal marker itself. Do they sell them here? I'll appreciate if anyone knows where I might be able to find them...
exohordon - June 23, 2006 04:34 AM (GMT)
Evergreen and some Giant supermarts.

Is there anything special about the Sharpie marker? Or is it just like a normal marker - like zebra?
Jeff Gan - June 23, 2006 07:54 AM (GMT)
its just a normal marker, with a sleeker design.

Anyone knows any methods for refilling the super sharpie? I loved mine until i ran out of ink. sobz.
GordonLi - June 26, 2006 03:47 AM (GMT)
You can get a regular sharpie and transfer the ink tube over. That is the surest way, although other markers may offer similar ink tubes.
Even though one may argue that effect-wise, the swami and the super sharpie is similar, from the perspective of the audience, it sure makes more sense to use a marker over a pencil.

I see.. I'll try experimenting with that. Thanx

Just in case not everyone of you know, Magic Smith just recently came up with the Mini Super Sharpie. May be easier to use for Asian hands! ;)
