This book good or not? USD45 is expensive!
I was at the ellusionist forums and come across this thread and it said that it "teaches you a lot about showmanship and making a character and writing patter."
Since i just learning these magic stuff, I find that patter seems important so i recently bought a notepad and is trying to record down what I am going to say during a trick..
Maybe there is any books better than this that you can recommend? Can I get them at some library or bookstores here in SG?

To be exact, he USED TO BE a card technician. Though i have never seen his video, but i think his books are really nice. Scam and fantasy is one. While Strong magic is theory based, and hailed as a very important book by some of the top magicians ion our art.
However, i don't know if its suitable for u since "u just learning these magic stuff" and i doubt u will fully benefit that USD 45 in your pocket.

On a more serious note.
Every serious magician should have this to read and to re-read. In my opinion (and many other people - whose books and Dvds you all buy) this is one of the bibles of performing strong magic. Regardless of what magic you're performing (or for some here, THINK you're performing), this is a must read.
On a different note, Darwin's card magic is exceptional in terms of concept and structure. It is elegant to watch as well as to perform them.
Highly recommended... if you get the value of the contents.

This is a GREAT book. Anyone who has it, knows the infinite gems of wisdom inside this heavy tome. It's a good investment to make, don't get crappy DVDs with snazzy ads... Strong Magic By Darwin Ortiz is really solid stuff. My full recommendations.
