Title: David Blaine Underwater
Aloy - May 11, 2006 05:13 AM (GMT)
Well the results are out. He did stay under water for 1 week, but he failed to beat the 9 mins underwater world record and only managed 7 mins.
I don't understand what he is doing anymore. Is he still doing magic or is he just interested in getting lotsa publicity with media stunts?
Maybe he is pissed off with all the exposure sites telling the world his methods so he decide to do things that are "unexposable".
Secret to David Blaine living under water for 1 week:
Stay alive.
Secret to David Blaine under water without air for 7 mins:
Hold your breath. But to me, the most important question is still....did he REALLY pee in that tank he was living in for 1 week??! Coz that's just wrong.......esp when it's not even a very big tank.
Anyways...

Well, that remind me how much the water he's under is filled with his own pee?
TayYH89 - May 11, 2006 07:18 AM (GMT)
I'm sure there's a way to remove his waste, ermm... via a pipe?
Or else, I really can't imagine how dirty the water he is in....
Anyway, I heard there will be permanent (irreversable) damage to his body due to this stunt.
bigbadwolf - May 11, 2006 07:28 AM (GMT)
Blaine still good....but Cyril's better ^_^
llamalamer - May 11, 2006 07:46 AM (GMT)
I think Blaine is turning inhuman -- not needing air, food and water to live.
But rather something that lives on occasional media limelight. Haha.
Paradoxt - May 11, 2006 08:38 AM (GMT)
He fasted for 5 days to clear all solid waste. As for peeing, he has a tube. How he uses it, dont ask me how.

There were a lot of heroes in my BMT platoon who tried not to during field camp. There was quite a bad smell coming from them by day 4. That's when we started to devise Operation Shoot-the-Fools-But-Make-It-Look-Like-An-Accident.
That's another story though. :P

During my time, people who didn't want to risk having to do big business only ate the biscuits that came in the combat rations. That way, the risk is reduced significantly.
I still remembered going to the destinated loo and seeing flies, "brown stuff" everywhere. I really pity the platoon that was given the task of cleaning and filling the holes that time
Maddened - May 11, 2006 10:56 AM (GMT)
Well Blaine basically fasted to get rid of all solid waste in his body prior to the stunt. Then during the week, he was fed liquid food only. As for the pee problem, he used a catheter tube. How that works is that it's erm... inserted up the er... unmentionables and the waste is drained automatically that way.
I'm thinking that's probably the method used. Of course he could have had something *over* the waste-disposal-body-part instead, but to have it on for a week and while submerged underwater might end up having permanent damage to blood flow and stuff like that. And well... you don't really want blood-flow problems *there* do you? ;)
sand king - May 11, 2006 11:00 AM (GMT)
buy why must they hold it? got punishments if you have to do business meh?

No punishment but then its really really very gross to have flies around your erhm when doing it.
And how do you clean when theres no paper? We can use the leaves tho
sand king - May 11, 2006 11:21 AM (GMT)
then why in the world must the hold? lol yucks...

I'm sure you dont want to see brown-black pieces of solids floating everywhere inside the sphere eh? :P
I remembered when DB did Frozen In Time, he took laxatives to clear his system before the stunt. Ouch.
thaddeus - May 11, 2006 12:58 PM (GMT)
I wonder how he sleeps in there.... His skin will feel darm dry and uncomfortable.

Hey Thaddeus, you're back! :!!: What brings your return?
If he's inside the sphere thats filled with water, why would he feel dry? Or do you mean impotent due the the tube attached to his *beep*.
thaddeus - May 11, 2006 03:56 PM (GMT)
No. Have you tried diving before? Or swim long hours? Your sking will feel very uncomfortalbe and dry. His *beep* will also feel very werid due to the underwater pressure.
xuanweng - May 11, 2006 04:28 PM (GMT)
Thats disgusting. Wonder what "damages" will it do to his body...
Doublelifter - May 11, 2006 04:52 PM (GMT)
Since he is not taking any solid food he does have any "solid" discharge,
that's why they can managed to drain his waste easily. Doctor says he
suffered liver damage.
Xtreme - May 11, 2006 07:11 PM (GMT)
I watched the entire episode of Drowned Alive already. Well, he did do some magic.. Bur very few. And some of those were freaky. He doesnt look like a normal human to me anymore. Think he's nuts.
Here's an link to an interview after the stunt.
http://edition.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0605/10/lkl.01.html He's planning for another major stunt. He is totally so out of his damn mind. <_<
bigbadwolf - May 12, 2006 02:01 AM (GMT)

balduvia - May 12, 2006 04:28 AM (GMT)
i actually think it would be more impressive if he managed to live with his shit and pee for the same amount of time. definitely would make him famous all the way to the south pole and back.
Paradoxt - May 12, 2006 05:20 AM (GMT)
i think its more of a infamous thing if he does that.

I don't know about the biscuit diet....they are digestive biscuits so eating only that is probably counter-productive.
Of course no punishments guys, but there are always some fools who think it's gross to dig your own hole and use leaves to clean up. Therefore they assume holding it in for a 8/9 days is a better solution.
And yes it does start to smell. However when you go unit people usually aren't so dumb as do to this. It's usually only blur-c recruits.
Don't worry though. From what I hear now field camp only 5 days max. You guys all damn shiok. Serve less, go outfield less, everything less. Hah.

Ya, Now, so many off here and there. I wonder my frenz is in army anot. Almost whole week see him online.. "-.-
Anyway, i only eat biscuit when i go out field, because i simply hate the combat ration, and the hassle of it. So biscuits are still the best for me. Nearly, i can tahan for 3 days without food, just give me water and i can chiong liao. Haha!!
But i ended my combat life after 1 year in army. Nowadays, good life, good food. Dun complain liao. Dun forget, the increase in salary.
