Hi guys, as I've stated earlier in my introduction, I'm starting to explore stage magic and maybe you guys can contribute to where I can start off with stage magic. What's in my mind now is actually appearing cane, snowstorm and a rope and ring routine by Gregory Wilson(Ring Leader).Maybe the forumites here can give a better insight with stage magic and what else should include to have a solid 45min show.
Thanks.

Hi all,
Just some things for anyone(stage magicians and magicians keen to start building a stage magic show) to think about:
What is "Stage Magic"? What are the conditions that determines the difference between "Stage" and "Palour"?
For rope and ring routine by Gregory Wilson(Ring Leader):
Have we seen world-class magicians peform close up magic for a stage show? Yes, we have. Naturally, not all close up magic is suitable for the stage. How should it be done correctly and effectively?
Stage Magic can range from short acts, 10 mins or less to full illusion acts lasting around 90 mins or more. What determines the length of a show?

infidelmofo,
well in stage magic, you can come out with your own routine, to do a 45 mins show is not that difficult. You need not have to own a lots of props and display them out. Some ideas where u can have a 45 mins show is The involvement of audience participation, this will take up at least 10-15mins of the show. You will walk down to find your audience, intro them to the crowds, etc. You can consider doing metal act in which i feel can take up most of the time. The rest you might want to do some display of ur magic props. Example a linking rings routine will take up about 5mins . U might want to do a zombie ball rountine another 5 mins, there are so many for u to explore. Don't just restrict to wat i say, just have the flow and most important thing is to enjoy yourself out here

Just a add on, You might consider half the show doing balloon scrupture which is popular nowadays . So pick up some skills in bending those balloons. That's all I think I have for u

Hi,
Here is an essy I wrote some years ago and recently updated. It is a systematic approach to developing a show that has served well for me:
Getting the Show on the RoadHope it helps and inspires.
Best,

hey all, thanks for your contributions.appreciate it alot, will take in consideration for all the ideas given above.however, extremerz, i am looking for something more visual and try not to include patter, in that way, it'll be solid to watch. rather then to slowly take your time. anyway thanks again :)

I was thinking maybe you could have a theme. a cane, a ring, a rope and snowstorms don't exactly link. Just my idea.

You might want to consider music to blend into your act. Different type of music will suits differently so choose wisely
